Are You Getting Enough Vitamin D?
With summer around the corner, you probably can’t wait to soak up the sun. Sun tans, days at the beach, and the warm sunshine hitting your toes is enough to make anyone ready for the long days of summer. Did you know, however, that more than just some fun, the sun is good for providing your body with some very important Vitamin D. Vitamin D is crucial for your body, but many of us don’t get enough, even through the sunny days of summer. If you think you might be deficient in this vitamin, check out these signs that you may not be getting enough.
You Ache for No Reason
Severe aches, especially what feels like aches in the bones can be a sign that you are not getting enough Vitamin D. Vitamin D makes the bones strong and healthy, so when you aren’t getting enough, they literally feel the effects. If you have reason for an achy body, then you might not have to jump to this conclusion. If you don’t have any reason for the aches and pains, however, you might look to Vitamin D as a possible culprit.
You Feel Blue
Depression is a big deal. It has many causes and many symptoms. One such cause is a lack of Vitamin D. Think about the winter. When you’re stuck inside and can’t get outside, you tend to get a little down. A lot of times, it’s not necessarily the cold weather that gets you down, but rather the lack of sun...or more specifically, Vitamin D. If you’re feeling blue, and suspect a Vitamin D deficiency, get to the doctor to get some help.
You Are Sweating...on Your Head
This is a crazy symptom that is very specific to a Vitamin D deficiency. When you don’t get enough Vitamin D, your head sweats. This is why a lot of babies sweat specifically from their heads. Vitamin D is found in very few foods. To get enough, you need the sun, a healthy diet, a supplement, or a healthy combination of all of the above. If you find yourself sweating more than usual from your head, you might suspect a lack in Vitamin D.
With the summer coming at us fast and furiously, make sure that your body is healthy and ready to enjoy the sun. Keep yourself healthy with the right vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin D. Use these tips to help you determine whether or not you are getting enough Vitamin D to enjoy the summer months ahead.
