Meet The Doctors
Dr. Gallo is a native southern Californian. His intense curiosity about how the body functions, and what factors help the body function, lead him to pursue and receive his doctorate in chiropractic in 1994 from Cleveland Chiropractic College at Los Angeles. Needless to say, with over 21 years of experience, he has improved and helped so many people from all walks of life. Having performed thousands of gentle chiropractic adjustments without incident, and being an expert in many chiropractic techniques, you can bet he brings a lot to the table when it comes to helping his clients. He always listens to the concerns and questions of his clients and tailors his technique especially for them. His style always emphasizes balance and decompression, and improved joint function which not only feels great, but also is great for you. He knows firsthand that ongoing chiropractic maintenance care offers significant health benefits and we're lucky to have him at The Joint in Anaheim! Come see him. Dr. Mark Olinger became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when he began serving Orange County residents in the Anaheim area, where he continues doing the work he finds so gratifying.
“I enjoy helping people understand the importance of spinal health,” he says, “and I love the many different personalities I meet along the way.”
Dr. Mark, as his patients call him, grew up in Fresno and has worked previously in Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Laguna Hills, and Costa Mesa. In his spare time he likes hiking, biking, prospecting, and watching professional sports.
Dr. Mark attended Cal State Fresno before getting his doctorate of chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1983. He knew chiropractic was his calling at a young age. “I wore a back brace for three years as a teenager,” he says. “Chiropractic was an important part of my improvement.”
His four decades as a doctor have provided many memorable instances, but one that he finds particularly thrilling was providing treatment for Team Saleen during an endurance automobile race in Sebring, Fla.
In Case You Didn’t Know
If the doctor could create an ideal dinner party with anyone from history, he would include Nikola Tesla, modern-day Einstein Ed Witten, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu. “Tesla was a genius in the field of magnetics, and I enjoy providing pulsed magnetic field therapy (PEMF) to animals, such as dogs and race horses, for pain reduction and accelerated sports performance,” Dr. Mark says. “String theory owes so much to Witten. Da Vinci was a true renaissance man who contributed to many disciplines and created the popularly used chiropractic icon with arms and legs outstretched. I’d like to get a first-hand account from the Pharaoh of how the pyramids were built.”
His favorite book is Healing Is Voltage by Dr. Jerry Tennant. “It’s a discussion of how ‘energy is the currency of change in the human body’ and how energy levels can be assessed and improved. I used principles from the book regarding chiropractic and also PEMF and pulsed field imaging to optimize patient care.
Dr. Mark always keeps fresh veggies stocked in his refrigerator for juicing.
He once had an extraordinary experience while solo backpacking. “I was temporarily lost due to massive fires and smoke,” he says. “Staying calm and using my experience, I managed to escape. The lesson: Stay calm, never give up, and most important, follow your intuition.”
