I am enthusiastic and amazed to be able to be a part of this beautiful community of Auburn CA. Staying in optimum physical shape has always been important to me as I competed as an athlete in baseball, football, swimming and soccer. As a White Water Rafting/Wilderness camping guide for 6 years, and an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic/Wilderness First Responder, I was drawn to adventure and healthcare.
I graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta, Georgia with a degree in Culinary Arts and graduated as a bonafide Chef, allowing me to take many strange ingredients and make them into delicious recipes that I can now share. My undergraduate degree from Georgia State University was in Medical Anthropology, which then allowed me to justify further schooling because we all know the Discovery Channel only hires anthropologists with a master’s degree.
I hail from Georgia, so I am a country boy, and on June 12, 2015 graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. I have missed the warm old “Southern” hospitality of Georgia, but here I am feeling at home again. My goal and passion as a Chiropractor is to help patients without unnecessary medication or surgery, but through adjusting the spine and positively influencing the central nervous system.
In EMT training I enjoyed interaction with patients but, was unhappy after dropping them off at the hospital. It troubled me to see that with acute sports injuries or chronic spine issues many doctors only treat the symptoms with anti-inflammatory medication and muscle relaxers. These are not the best methods to deal with the symptoms of such injuries according to the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics; Chiropractic spinal adjustments have been shown to be the best method of mobilizing joints and an excellent protocol for identifying the cause of pain.
I am a devoted to educating people on what it means to be healthy and the benefits of Chiropractic.
Dr. Alysha Murray was born in Vancouver, Canada where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from The University of the Fraser Valley. She moved to San Jose, California in 2013 and began her chiropractic journey studying at Palmer College of Chiropractic West, graduating with honors in 2016 with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. While at Palmer College Dr. Alysha was a member of the Sports Council team and treated athletes at many events including The Dew Tour, Sea Otter, The North Face Challenge and many others. She is certified in various techniques which gives her an edge while treating.
Dr. Alysha has been a competitive barrel racer since childhood. Her love for chiropractic started by getting her horses adjusted and seeing the difference in their performance, she became curious about chiropractic care and became a patient herself. She believes that with regular chiropractic adjustments we keep our nervous system free of interference so our bodies can heal and reach an optimum level of health and wellness.
In her spare time, Dr. Alysha likes to explore the Bay Area, check out the local farmers’ markets, jump on a horse once in a while and of course participate in her favorite sport, shopping!
