Have More Fun with Exercise
By Tom Herrin
Some individuals exercise regularly and enjoy it. For them, it may be that they like the routineness and structure of a program they can follow. For others of us, this mundane type of exercise seems boring and lackluster. We may enjoy something that is more adventurous and creative. Apparently there is quite a bit of attention paid to this as there are many resources with different kinds of activities suggested that may meet this need for us. As for motivation, if we can find ways to have more of it, we will be far more successful with our efforts to stay fit.
Have You Taken Self-Defense?
There are all kinds of classes in self-defense. It can be useful training for any of us. It helps build self-confidence, but it also is great discipline. Along with that discipline comes conditioning. If you have ever tried it, or even watched it, you may have seen just how much goes into it. You have likely never seen anyone who participates in it who is seriously out of shape. The martial arts are the best known. Taking up one of these may give you much more sense of purpose with your workout.
Dance Classes Can Burn Calories
If you have never put much effort into dancing, you have missed out on some pretty good exercise. Some people are really into it and attend classes regularly. There are all kinds of events as well in which they can participate. These will definitely get you off the sofa and moving. Even slow dances can help to provide much more exercise than you might otherwise get. You will be on your feet, and there will be motivation. That is what counts. If you enjoy music, it is simply that much better. If you are not into classes, then dancing for a few minutes at home can be pretty good. I enjoy that myself.
Birding Is a Thing
What was once birdwatching has now translated into birding. We can do this with today's technology as we use a phone to help us identify various kinds of birds. It won't be an aggressive activity, but it will give you a reason to be up moving around. You will have to move some as you position yourself to see some of the different birds you seek, and you will learn a little at the same time.
