Fighting Fibromyalgia Any Way Possible
By Brandi Goodman
Fibromyalgia Awareness Day arrives on the 12th of May. Take time beforehand, and even after, to learn just how you can fight your symptoms. You don't have to continue feeling pain without ever experiencing relief. With a few methods for fighting fibromyalgia, you can eliminate some of the daily discomfort you feel.
Exercise
Exercise releases endorphins that can make you feel good and happy. It reduces stress. Many men and women suffering from fibromyalgia feel sore and stressed regularly. Getting exercise as often as possible can be a huge help in fighting symptoms and keeping flare-ups from occurring so much.
Laughter
You might not think this would help, but laughter is as good for the soul as they say. It can also reduce stress and ease pain. Find as many ways as possible to get yourself laughing during the day and you'll be surprised how much better you feel by the end of it. Watch a comedy. Spend time joking with friends. Watch funny videos on your phone. Buy a joke book. There's lots of ways to ensure laughter.
Diet
The foods you eat can have significant impact on the way your mind and body feel. Eating nothing but processed foods and junk can leave you feeling sick and groggy. Enjoying fresh vegetables and fruits and having a variety of healthy options in your daily diet is more likely to reduce your pain and leave you feeling refreshed and well.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic care may help if you have fibromyalgia. With the need to alleviate pain and stress, chiropractic care might be exactly what you're looking for. Sufferers often have difficulty sleeping and face chronic fatigue. A visit to the chiropractor can make you feel relaxed, prompting better sleep. Adequate rest is a huge step toward feeling less pain daily.
Sleep
Because sleep is so important for people with fibromyalgia, other options are necessary to find methods of improvement. You should set a new bedtime routine that you follow daily so it becomes easier to shut your mind down each night. Eliminate the use of light and noise immediately prior to bedtime. This means keeping any screens off. Don't go to bed after a large meal, either, as this can make you feel bloated and uncomfortable.
You may not be able to completely cure your fibromyalgia, but you can relieve your symptoms. Don't feel daily pain without ever attempting to try new ways to prevent it. With these options in mind, you may be able to experience some relief that you never thought possible.
