What a Little Effort Can Do for Your Health
By Genevieve Cunningham
Are you giving life your full effort? So many times in daily life, we give minimal effort and focus but still expect big results. And this is especially true in our health. But why do we expect that to work? If you've been slacking in your routines and habits, take a look at what a little effort might do for your overall health and well-being.
Small Movements Turn Into Big Calorie Burn
If you're fairly sedentary, you might be surprised at the huge difference a little movement can do for you. Even small movement like walking or stretching can burn calories. If you do these small movements enough, you may start to feel better in your body as well as finally lose weight. It's OK that you're not doing a hardcore workout every day. Even small effort in exercise can add up to big results.
Daily Habits Turn Into Significant Changes
Sometimes we let our daily habits get a little out of control. We think it'll be fine if we fall asleep this one time with makeup still on our face. We convince ourselves that skipping the moisturizer is fine. We tell ourselves that the dessert is just a one-time thing. But these bad habits begin to build on each other. Before long, our skin is dry and broken out, our waistline is expanding, and we're lacking energy. Take the time to get these daily habits back under control. Wash your face, apply moisturizer, brush and floss, limit alcohol. Whatever you need to do! You'll probably be amazed at how much better you look and feel as these tiny daily habits take precedence in your life.
Setting Priorities Can Change It All
Priorities matter. If you're prioritizing work over everything else, everything else will suffer. If you're not focusing on health at all, you'll gain weight and experience more illness. Set your priorities and stick with it. Even if you only set one or two big priorities, the changes that this will bring to your life will be both positive and significant in your ultimate well-being.
Giving your best effort is a task at first, but it doesn't take long to realize that this is the only thing that will really work. Make these small changes in your life. Be bold and give effort. In doing so, you may find what really works for you, and inadvertently change your life for the better starting now.
