Meet The Doctors
Dr. Joshua Wood (D.C, M.S., B.S.) joined The Joint Chiropractic family in November 2022, beginning his career as a wellness coordinator in the San Jose area, while completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer West. Upon graduation and completion of his licensing credentials, he shifted to the role of chiropractor, and began caring for patients, gaining experience at over ten different Joint clinics all across the Bay Area. In July, Dr. Wood found a new home at the Hayward clinic, where his mission is to increase patients' quality of life through routine and affordable chiropractic care.
Dr. Wood's education includes a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech, a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and a doctor of chiropractic from Palmer West Chiropractic College.
While not caring for patients, Dr. Wood enjoys spending time with his wife, Liz, and two rescue doggies, Brownie and Barber. At least once per week, you can find him with his wife and dogs hiking one of the many beautiful trails here in the Bay Area.
Dr. Darren Miguel, D.C, joined the joint’s chiropractic team of chiropractors in May, 2024. Graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic West he received his doctorate in March of 2024 and has been helping people ever since.
Dr. Miguel's favorite part of being a chiropractor is, “the relief he sees on patients' faces after they finish their appointment, and the joy it brings them to be out of pain”. His second favorite part is the noise that comes with getting a good adjustment.
Growing up in the East Bay, he is loyal to the area and happy to serve the community. As someone who played many sports growing up and throughout his schooling career he has interest in sports chiropractic, but loves being able to help anyone.
With all the sports he played throughout his school career, he was no stranger to suffering from injuries on and off the field. It got to the point where in his highschool life it was painful just going about his daily routine. That is when he was introduced to chiropractic, after months of being in pain, he found relief in just 2 weeks of being treated. After finding this relief where alternatives had fallen short, he knew that this would be the career path he wanted to take.
Dr. Miguel is very happy to be treating in the East Bay, and is happy to help anyone who is looking to find relief and live a pain free life.
