Very rushed and fast process. They try and hook you on a payment “membership” plan. They don’t seem to care too much about what hurts only what makes them the most money. **** Updating my review because despite already posting about my experience, emailing management, and leaving my contact information, I still have not received any response. That level of disregard is disappointing and only reinforces my concerns about customer service at this location. What upset me most was not just the interaction itself, but the complete lack of accountability afterward. A simple acknowledgment or follow-up from management would have gone a long way. Instead, I’ve been ignored after taking the time to explain my experience respectfully and in detail. **** I had a very disappointing experience at The Joint in National City. I arrived at 6:52 PM and was never greeted by the receptionist. Instead, she appeared irritated and bothered that we walked in. I let her know I had already checked in through the app, but there was still no acknowledgment or basic courtesy. Shortly after, Dr. DeMarco came out and told us they were closing and wouldn’t be able to help us unless it was a very quick adjustment. That was frustrating, especially since I had already checked in ahead of time. I asked whether I would lose my credit due to not being seen, and when the doctor asked the receptionist, to remove us from the queue she had an attitude. I asked for her name and she refused to give me her name and dismissively told me, “don’t worry about it,”. At that point, I expressed how poor the customer service had been—specifically that I was never greeted and felt unwelcome. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the receptionist became argumentative, insisted she had been friendly, and even asked me if I was “done” speaking. That response was unprofessional and made the situation worse. I’ve been here before and had much better experiences with another staff member who is always warm and welcoming, which made this interaction stand out even more negatively. I left feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. Based on this experience, I don’t plan on returning if that receptionist is working. Customer service matters, and this visit fell far below expectations.

Until finally this past Monday… I had enough of the pain, and I noticed the misalignment in my body (pain was in my hip… when I raised the one side, I felt relief). At first I actually called a prosthetic foot store thinking I could just get a shoe insert instead of addressing the issue. They told me no, that I would need to go to a doctor or chiropractor for the measurements. I knew of The Joint through my spouse and a friend… and at that point I was desperate to try to find relief (but I was still apprehensive… I just went anyway). So… there I was. Giving my history to Dr. Robert. On the way there I started realizing that I’ve actually been pretty hard on my body over my 45 years and started to feel more confident about my decision to go. The staff got me in the same day (actually within 3 hours of calling), and everything from there has been amazing! Dr. Robert eased my concerns and made me feel like he understood and was confident he could help… and he did! Don’t get me wrong, the first adjustment in my hip hurt, but in a quick, unexpected, followed by relief kind of way. Oddly he made me feel better by affirming that what I had been enduring (going on about a solid year by now), was actually significant and that I could expect a gradual relief due to the duration and adhesions that had built up. Later that Monday, I felt better. Adjustment on Wednesday, not even 20% of the discomfort I felt the first time. Today is Friday and my adjustment (3rd) felt even more comfortable… and yesterday I walked 3 miles straight without the pain during or after the walk (I was careful though on the uneven terrain). I sincerely am grateful for Dr. Robert, the staff, and The Joint for being not only affordable but also genuinely caring. Thank you so much!! I am a believer and I’ve already told at least 5 people this week of how much relief I have felt already. I can’t wait to get back to feeling like myself again ❤️

MARCH 2026, they got a new doctor named Robert DeMarco who gave me what I call a "half-way adjustment" leaving me in pain when I left. "Half-way adjustment" means he didn't manipulate in a targeted and forceful enough manner to properly complete the job which left me with pain that I did not have before I went in. Additionally, Dr. DeMarco forces 2 people to come back to the beds at one time and directs one person to one bed and the second person to the other bed, WHETHER THEY WANT TO OR NOT. Example, I was next in line, and he called me to the back area, and the next person in line after me was also called to the back area, and that person didn't understand what was going on and was resistant to going back there since I was going back. NO PRIVACY. Dr. DeMarco came out into the waiting room and stood sternly and again, like a drill sergeant, told that resistant patient to go back and get on the other bed. THIS BEHAVIOR WAS OFFENSIVE TO ME. Then, without even introducing himself to me (I never met him before), Dr. DeMarco proceeded to jump in and adjust me. He had nothing to say about my condition or what is bothering me, nothing. I've been getting adjusted for over a decade and I can tell you that Dr. DeMarco is what's known as a "flipper." He doesn't care, he just "gets them in, gets them out," because it's all about the bottom line for the owner. I watched him, and he literally adjusts everyone the same exact way - wash, rinse, repeat. This Joint Chiropractic is operated by a woman franchisee who seems to be all about the bottom line and not actually about the people, nor about her doctors, therefore, her hiring Dr. DeMarco makes sense because he fits her agenda. Example, when the air-conditioner broke down, she made her doctors work in extreme heat FOR WEEKS ON END and did not even so much as bring a fan for them to stay cool. I FOUND THIS OFFENSIVE AND CRUEL. The front desk staff and the doctors worked in a sweat shop type of environment, and the patients roasted in the waiting room. This went on for weeks. I was offended by this. Additionally, when it rains, the owner does not put out non-slip mats which is a huge slip hazard for people who come in to "get well." And in December and January when it rained, the front desk staff actually put cardboard on the cheap dirty vinyl flooring to prevent slipping, which was ridiculous because the cardboard slipped easily on the vinyl floor and I nearly fell when I walked in the door. When I left, the cardboard was still there. It was ridiculous. Speaking of the floor, for the love of God, PROPERLY CLEAN THAT FLOOR, this is what a deck brush is for after all! The newly hired Dr. DeMarco has been given more days at this Joint location and the other two doctors at this location have had their hours/days reduced; for me, sadly, this means I must now look for a new place to get my adjustments. Unless and until there are changes made here, I currently do not recommend The Joint Chiropractic in National City, NOR THE STORE IN BALBOA which is also run by the same owner.

He always comes to work late, making patients wait extended times for no reason. I’ve also been here when he is already here and he purposely ignores patients until he feels like treating them. Walking in, my Lower middle back hurt so bad like it just felt locked and any movement hurt. I went in and I’m scared of chiropractors but he did his thing! At first when we were done, my back still hurt. I was a little upset because I don’t know why I’m having this pain but maybe 30 minutes go by, my back feels relieved. I am thrilled to have finally written a review for The Joint, as I had been searching for the ideal chiropractic doctor to commend. I typically visited The Joint in Miramesa, as it was conveniently located on my route home from work, and my fiancé and I frequently found ourselves in the area. I highly recommend Dr. Jason Vanderford @ The Joint Chiropractic in National City. He is my go-to chiropractor and has been for years. He is a thoughtful and knowledgeable chiropractor who gives a great adjustment. He gives great advice/direction to his patients regarding how to best maintain a healthy back, such as what exercises/stretches to do that would be best for your particular back issue(s). This is HUGE, because as we all know, a healthy back does not just "magically happen" with simply getting adjustments only. "Proper" stretches and "proper" exercises, and a good diet are also needed. I visited this place for a check up about a year ago, they me signed up for the monthly wellness plan, after two visits they told me due to my medical condition they are not able to see my anymore. I was under the impression they cancelled my plan. However, after recently reviewing my credit card statement they kept billing me for the last 12 months. I called them to explain the situation and they were not helpful. They charged me over 900$! Fraud, won't recommend.

This place is AMAZING! I literally came in not being able to stand or walk straight, when I sat down I couldn’t even hold my upper body up. I explained everything to Dr Vanderford what was wrong with me & he knew and explained everything he was gonna do! After 10 minutes I was able to sit and stand straight. I literally cried after he was done cause I could believe the relief. I will always recommend this place now!! I’m 28 and went for constant back pain after my 3 baby and I will be coming back again, It helped so much that my husband literally had his done there right after me lol.

Update: Went again on a Wednesday, they were closed again. I missed out on my last visit for the month of November. This makes 11 wasted trips here. I called first and the phone system said they were busy with another customer, so I drove 20 minutes to get here…closed again. Expect to see this closed notice constantly if you come here. I have lost out on about 10 of my visits because they were closed with no doctor. They have definitely cost me $$ for services I never got.

I lived with an injury for 15 years. Doctors gave me pain killers and they did multiple brain scans and they said there was nothing wrong with me. So I did my research and based on my symptoms I came up with a conclusion so I tried multiple things. The chiropractors here are really good but don't expect them to do miracles either. You gotta do physical therapy, daily stretches and special type of work outs to strengthen your back and make your body more flexible. Eat healthy and take vitamins to help your body heal

I have used chiropractors for about 20 years and have never written a review for any of them. I suffer from numerous sporting injuries and I am quite difficult to adjust. The majority of chiropractors that I use, treat me like a routine, whereby they lay me down, don't assess me and adjust me in the hope that a cavitation happens. In fact, most chiropractors are unable to effectively adjust me. After my multiple visits with Jason, I felt compelled to share an especially positive review: 1. He took the time to diligently assess me. He studied my posture from various angles, he tested certain movements, he palpated my spine in a highly detailed way to precisely locate specific regions that were misaligned and had restricted movement. 2. He was highly communicative and asked questions to verify his assessment 3. He took the time to ensure that I was in a very precise position to ensure that the adjustment was targeting a very specific region. 4. He has the strength that I need to force adjustments to happen. 5. He took the time explain exactly what he found, potential causes and what he was trying to accomplish. He also offered recommendations for things that I can do individually to manage my conditions. Overall, he is one of the few chiropractors that I consider to be very technical with a wonderful professional demeanor who takes a personalized approached to treating me the way my body requires. A truly refreshing experience.

Pleasant front desk, welcoming atmosphere UNTIL actually seeing the doctor. Jeff Geil is the type of doc to be staring at a chart over actually looking his patients in the eye even when you’re the only person in the office. I know chiropractors’ are all about cash-flow and getting patients in and out, but I’ve seen more respect for clients at a McDonald’s than I did here.

I personally went in 3 weeks ago. I've been going to the chiropractor for the past 5 years just for monthly upkeep. Going here was what I would consider a last resort compared to my usual. In and out quick, which is good if that's what you're looking for, but to me, the whole thing felt rushed and forced, literally. Not to mention, I tried to go today at 310pm. They apparently stop taking walk-ins at 3pm due to a "busy schedule."" Though the front lobby was empty with no one in the back rooms either. Would recommend Gaslamp Chiropractor for a better experience who uses health insurance if need be.

The good: service was fast, place was clean. The bad: 6 cracks were made for me but I didn't feel like the area that I had issues was addressed. The ugly: the chiropractor serviced my back like he was in a rush. Quick not much conversation in between cracks. I feel like it was more important for him to sell me on a membership than to try to help me with my lower back issues. Next day super early I got a call asking me to buhy a membership after I told the receptionist that I would call if I was interested in a membership.... call was un necessary.

Went to the chiropractor in National city this morning regarding a billing issue.ghetto fabulous receptionist works on Mondays. Be careful with the awful service and mannerism. instead of helping resolve and issue starts yelling at me. Asked her to lower her voice and not to speak to me the way she was. I went to this location that was closest to me but still 15min away. First time was great I went in the afternoon and the chiropractors were mostly friendly. There was one chiropractor I saw there and he wasn't so friendly. He called my name told me to lay face down without a intake and did an adjustment on me. He finished the adjustment with me face up and said okay we are done.... besides this incident they aren't open on time. I've had to leave and come back several times. I finally got tired of it and canceled my membership which was difficult because front desk wasn't answering my call. I finally decided to email and was asked to leave a survey but still haven't heard back or no questions asked about why I had to cancel. Don't come here. Not worth it

On 4/22, I arrived at 2:10pm during my one hour lunch to get service I paid for the sessions and once I walked in they told me that they are not accepting anyone and they will be going to lunch for 1 1/2 hour. Not very professional at all and no sign saying out for lunch or etc. Very upset because I missed my lunch hour from work and drove all the way for nothing.

I had had positive experiences with both front desk and the chiropractors in this office until today. I walked in at 3:49pm...google said they closed at 4. I drove 25min with lower back pain...as I’m walking in the front desk lady Janey or Jenny makes this loud “UGHHH” as she sees me walk in. I even looked around to see if that was for me in disbelief. She then goes “Ughhhh we can’t see you” it’s too late and the dr needs to make notes. So I tell her I drove 25’min if she could ask because the last person in the office was saying good bye. She said no, her tone in voice seemed very rude telling me they tell us to be there at 3:45 the latest. I will be cancelling my membership, I would rather pay more elsewhere but know I will be taken care of. The lady who was walking out tells me as we walk to our cars she had been rude to her too and also didn’t want her to be seen saying it was too late. My recommendation to this office is to make sure when we sign the membership contract to say what time is last call.

I call at 11:30am asking for information as a new patient. Ask for the next available appointment. The lady on the phone told me that for new patients there is no need for an appointment, and I can be seen right away. I figured is 11:30, I might as well wait after the 12:00 lunch hour is over so I show up at 1:20pm. No one at the front desk. Finally someone comes from the back and greets me. I explained to individual that I am a new patient. She told me that it will be a while until someone can see me. At least an hour and a half. That was not the first impression I would like to have. I thanked her and walked away. Total waste of my time.

This location is great. I’ve had a chance to receive treatment from most of the chiropractors from this location, and not only are they professional and have helped relieve pain, they’re also extremely friendly and great people to talk to. Today I was experiencing the worst pain in my back. You see I thought I could just get up and show my niece how to tumble. Well I guess the joke was on me since I haven’t tumbled in 15 years! I was hardly able to move plus it was really hard to take care of my two year old son; who is everywhere and in everything. on top of everything we Have a flight in the morning. Dr. Ida Spector was excellent. She worked on my left shoulder and got it fixed the first time. This was my first ever chiro session coz I don’t believe on them. Now I do and will continue with maintenance chiro. I was with physical and occupational therapies but unsuccessful. It’s been awesome coz I am able now to remove my shirt without pain on my left shoulder. Try Dr. Ida and you won’t have nothing to lose! Great job! Thank you very much!

New to the San Diego area, I came in with a slight flair up of my SI joint and within a few hours I could barely walk. I called Dr. Steven Haley with my concern, not very empathic at all. Suggested I come back in for another adjustment and wasn't sure what had happened between the time I left. Kind of putting the blame on me. Why would I come back in for another adjustment when I am in worst shape than before. I have had chiropractic adjustments over the past couple of years for this particular issue and this has never happened. Hoping it would subside over the evening, but it did not, it got worse. I couldn't even stand up straight the next morning, not even with assistance from my partner, the pain was unbearable. Went to urgent care and was diagnosed with a lumbosacral joint sprain. Now I am unable to work for at least two weeks.

Amazing experience. Came here yesterday since I woke up with a stiff neck and lower back. The location is nice. Big parking lot. The wait was non-existent. Maybe 2 minutes. I had Dr.Haley and he was fantastic. You can tell he cares by way of tips on how to prevent more back problems to adjusting exactly what I needed. Walked out feeling like a million bucks and woke up even better. 10/10 would do again.
