Milk consumption can be traced back to more than 7,000 years. During the early phases of milk discovery, it was believed that people who lived in regions with insufficient sunshine should drink milk. This idea came from the fact that they required milk as a supplement since they couldn't obtain adequate Vitamin D owing to less sunshine. People in Europe were the first to start consuming milk for its many health benefits, and the Balkans were the first to catch on. Most people are lactose tolerant and can drink fresh milk thanks to a particular gene.
Milk was formerly considered a precious item reserved exclusively for royalty. In Egypt, this was standard practice. Cows and sheep were considered valued assets because they could provide milk. Pasteur, a French scientist, was the one who first introduced pasteurization. It's the process of sterilizing milk to make it safe to drink. This warms the milk to a particular temperature for a set amount of time, killing any dangerous germs that may be present. Machines now do this process. Milk is also high in important nutrients.
