Dr. Amber L. Rhoe became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2020 when she began serving residents in the Riverside area to do the work she loves so much.
“The thing I enjoy most about being in this field is educating and healing people holistically through chiropractic care,” she says. “It’s gratifying to change peoples’ lives holistically in order to give them a better quality of life.
“Chiropractic has helped people not get surgery, and it has changed their lives for the better without being dependent on medications.”
Dr. Rhoe is a local product who has worked primarily in the Inland Empire, such as Temecula and Chino Hills, as well as Riverside, Brea, and Downey.
“I grew up in Mission Grove and went to high school here and decided to start a practice in that same community because I knew a lot of people here,” she says. “I also used to play softball for the city of Riverside, so I’ve met a lot of athletes.”
She got an associate degree in biology at Riverside City College before getting a doctorate in chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences.
When she wasn’t coaching her daughter’s softball team or watching any of the other high school sports she played, she enjoyed -- and continues to enjoy -- doing boot camp, running, and hiking.
Following the chiropractic path was natural for her, and she knew as far back as middle school. “My grandpa used to see a chiropractor regularly, and with his posture and arthritis pain I saw the benefits of him getting adjusted regularly,” she says. “He suggested I had strong hands after I used to massage him and it gave me the idea of getting into the profession of chiropractic. Then I started studying the varying subjects I would be learning and I have always been fascinated with the human body and physiology of the way the body works.”
She’s excited to work in the Riverside Plaza clinic: “I’m looking forward to working in the community I grew up in as well as changing the lives of others holistically.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Rhoe always keeps a bottle of apple cider vinegar in her refrigerator “because it’s good for inflammation and joint pain.”
Some of the best advice she ever received came from one of her softball coaches, who told her that it isn’t how you start, but how you finish that matters, which is why she’s so keen on working at The Joint after having previously had her own clinic.
“The greatest, most memorable thing I’ve done was open my own chiropractic business,” she says. “It was exciting because I was able to impact people in my community ... as well as be in charge of my own financial destiny. When I had to close, it was a very difficult thing to do; however, it showed me there can always be another chance to have another opportunity to open another business and do it more successfully the next time. There are always opportunities if you are willing to take them.”
And that leads to the advice she likes to hand out: “Never give up. When one door closes, another one opens.”
