    I work a pretty physically demanding job. We walk / hike 8 to 12 miles a day on various terrains and inclines. I first started coming in here with some hip pain when I walk.     I’ve been to Joint locations all over and have never had an issue. They’ve always welcomed me in and accommodated me when I needed an adjustment. At this location, the staff looked at my account, saw that I pay per visit, and told me they would not see me unless I purchased a package. I was also told they wanted to focus on appointment-based customers, despite there being no one else in the building at the time. What really bothered me was being told that I needed to be more responsible with my health when I came in seeking help because my back was hurting. Instead of helping a customer in pain, I felt judged and dismissed. I’ve never experienced anything like this at any other Joint location. If you’re looking for a walk-in adjustment or expect to be treated with respect, I would not recommend this location.

    I went here the first time about 5 months ago. My son played in a very physical football game did well. Two days later he could not run during practice. One of the coaches checked him out and said his hips were out of alignment. Left practice and took him to the joint. Instantly better after adjustment. Was able to practice and did not miss the next game. Signed him up for weekly visits and chiropractic care is as much a part of his wellness program as nutrition, sleep and working out. I also signed myself up and mobility improvements and pain management are a huge unlock for me personally. The staff is very knowledgeable and help educate you on how to care for yourself. Highly recommend them.

    This is my very first experience with chiropractor services. I was quite satisfied with the clinical treatment and Dr. Alyssa’s assessment, knowledge and personality. It it is too early to make any comment on my healing process. I definitely felt better after the treatment than when I went in. I have had my back adjusted for many yrs.. by different chiropractors, my 1st n only visit to the joint in landed up in the ER that night being adjusted wrong causing my muscles to cramp up, landed up needing muscle relaxer shot.     I came into The Joint for the $29 special, but honestly the price didn’t even matter — I had sharp lower back pain that started the night before and needed real relief. After just a few minutes of sharing my symptoms, Dr. Avina immediately put me at ease. She was reassuring, knowledgeable, and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. By the end of the adjustment, I felt realigned and noticeably better. I was a bit hesitant going in since I’m not usually someone who sees chiropractors and typically opt for massages, which I now realize are more of a temporary band-aid. This experience completely changed my perspective. Maya was also incredible — she explained everything so clearly and was beyond patient and understanding as I asked (and re-asked ?) several questions. She never rushed me and made sure I fully understood the process. Highly recommend Dr. Avina and Maya. Professional, kind, and truly focused on helping you feel better — I’ll definitely be back!

Over 140 reviews with 1.9 star, all experience the same unethical business practices and should have a class action lawsuit against them, calling ALL attorneys out there. Shady and unethical business practices. They use deceptive tactics to get your credit card information and push you into signing a sneaky contract without clearly explaining the terms. When I called to question the charges and ask for a resolution, the representative was rude, refused to give her name, and hung up on me. After that, they completely avoided my calls. Zero customer service, zero accountability. Once they have your payment, they do not care. I strongly recommend avoiding this company and proceeding with extreme caution.

    I have been going to The Joint for several years, but went to the SLO location for the first time last week. I got a particularly good adjustment so I will definitely be going back. I have been splitting time between the SF Bay Area and SLO and before when I was in SLO, I was having to drive to Santa Maria to The Joint location there, which I was grateful that they are there, but I am so happy that The Joint is also in SLO now, because it's much more convenient! The chiropracticor are very skilled and have made great adjustments on me now. I trust them. The Joint chiropractic has great pricing, I utilize the membership program, as I have used chiropractic basically for the last forty years, the Joint is affordable membership or not if your like me and need chiropractic work done regularly. The is also nationwide basically, as a former long haul truck driver, the convenience to do walkin appointments as well as being able to visit other location across the nation Joint Chiropractic has been a true blessing.     The pricing is fair and the service itself is decent. However, their contracts make canceling unnecessarily difficult. You have to go in person before a specific date and still pay for at least two months. Businesses should keep customers through great service, not through restrictive policies or confusing fine print. Also, signups are done through a web app, but California's AB 2863 (effective July 1, 2025) requires any business that allows online enrollment to also provide an equally easy way to cancel online. They should get ahead of that and update their process -- forcing in-person cancellations feels outdated and unfair. Now i have to head back to slo to cancel my policy.

    I like the fact that you can walk in and get adjusted, but I don’t like the fact that they only have one person When they get a new client it’s a long wait because they have to go through a process of examination so the people that come in and wait have to wait a long time Today I walked in the office And spoke to a young lady I asked for a one time visit and she said they do not offer it that they only do plans. Says right on the paperwork one time only $55 This is the second time this place is disappointed me. they want to get you on in there and get you on a plan and see you every week to two weeks.     I have been to many Joint Chiropractic franchises over the last 5 years. I have never been told that I can’t pay $55 for a one time adjustment. I guess there is a first time for everything. I feel that every chiropractor is a little different and being able to determine with a single visit option is a huge advantage to know if I would like to sign up for the wellness plan. I was in pain when I showed up and there was a price list that showed the $55 one time adjustment and the lady at the front desk said that it wasn’t an option because the owner doesn’t want to allow that option. I asked why it was on the price list and she said because we haven’t received the new ones yet. In my opinion then honor the price because it shows as an option. Needless to say I won’t be going back. I do suggest the Santa Maria location because they are awesome!

    The opening of the Joint Chiropractic office in SLO has been the biggest deal and happiest day for me since I have been a member for several years and have been driving all over CA getting my appointments done wherever I can stop in. It truly is remarkable how much better I feel on a day to day basis when I get my adjustments done. As a former First Responder and active athlete and professional this place has literally kept me going all out. The SLO staff are phenomenal and the doctor got my tricky or hard to adjust neck to adjust just effortlessly and I am so grateful we have our own Joint!!

    Unfortunately I had a terrible experience. Not a very thorough adjustment program at all at when I wanted to cancel, they made it hell to try to get out of the contract and charged me one last time just to get a few more bucks outta me. Poor business practices and poor workmanship.

    This place is really good for chiropractic adjustments if you need to go once a week. it’s absolutely worth the price, but do beware that when you sign up, you’re locked into the first two months. My only issue is, is that I don’t feel that this was made very clear when I had signed up.
