Dr. Rae was born in Mountain View, WY (the third of six children), but most of his growing up years were spent in St. George, UT where he graduated from Dixie High School in 1999 receiving the highest award for accomplishments in the classroom and on the athletic field. Prior to attending college he chose to serve the people of Brazil for two years (1999-2001) as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While there, he learned to speak fluent Portuguese. He then attended Dixie State College where he was chosen as the Life Science Student of the Year in 2003. After graduating from Dixie State College he attended Brigham Young University receiving his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science in 2005. After attending BYU he enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in October of 2005. During his time there, he served on the Student Council, and he was a teaching assistant for both Anatomy and Physiology. At graduation in December of 2008 he received the Most Outstanding Sports Clinician award. After graduating from chiropractic school Dr. Rae started his own clinic that he owned for 13 years in Phoenix, AZ. He has served as the medical director for many of the major sporting events in the Phoenix, AZ valley, and in 2016 he was chosen to be on the medical staff of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2012, Dr. Rae returned to school and received a Masters Degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation from Logan University, and he completed courses through the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). Dr. Rae and his wife, Mary, have six children together (five boys and one girl). Dr. Rae is an avid Ironman triathlete, and he loves to spend his time in the outdoors.
Dr. Katherine Andrews is a Chiropractor who focuses on total body wellness through Chiropractic adjustments. She graduated from Parker University in Dallas, Texas in 2012. She was Valedictorian of her class and also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy, as well as, a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Wellness while going through Chiropractic school. In addition, she has a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and another Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is passionate about Neuroscience and has a certification in Chiropractic Neurology. She continues to stay up-to-date in her studies and current research.
Dr. Andrews successfully owned and operated her own business for 7 years. She has worked for the Joint Chiropractic last year on the East Coast and has now joined the team in California.
She feels that the best thing about being in the Chiropractic field is helping people in real-time. Chiropractic care is a hands on experience where making a difference in someone’s life is tangible to her.
In her free time, she works as a nurse at NAS Lemoore, enjoys power lifting at the gym, running trails and exploring new areas. She likes to read to engage her mind and to stay current on medical issues. Dr. Andrews stays focused and energetic about her interests. She enjoys nature and running so much that she is an Ultra Runner. She has completed several 50k races. Her longest distance was a 50 mile race in California. She has plans to run a 100k race sometime in the future.
Dr. Vella originates from New York state, but currently resides in Visalia, Ca. He received his bachelor’s degree from CW Post College in 1972 and received his Master’s in 1974. He then completed his Doctorate in 1986 at Life Chiropractic West.
He is the proud father of three sons. One of his sons is an MD specializing in pain management. His other two sons are both RNs, with one son working for the federal government and the other working for the state. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, hiking, and playing the guitar and bass.
Before he retired, Dr. Vella owned three chiropractic clinics as well as managing 12 different clinics. He has 33 years of chiropractic experience and currently enjoys working at The Joint Chiropractic part time and giving back to the community through excellent chiropractic care.
