Take a Bottle With You at All Times

By Tom Herrin

If people are trying to find that right thing to get their health on the right track without a lot of major changes, they need not look very long or far.  One of the simplest things they can do for their health may be right in front of their eyes or over at the faucet.  Water is something that is essential for everyone.  It is unfortunate that many never really take the time to really consider just how valuable water is to the body.  It is irreplaceable.  While many people today drink all kinds of other beverages, there are times when nothing can take the place of water.  It is inexpensive and generally easy to acquire.  Yet even with it simplicity, it is overlooked far too many times.  If it was anything but what it is, it might be considered a wonder drug.

It Is Critical to Physical Performance

While most people know water is necessary, they may not recognize how its function is tied to almost everything.  For those who are involved in athletics, it must be supplied constantly or serious consequences occur.  Coaches and trainers have spent quite a lot of time and effort to determine how much water people need to perform and what kinds of breaks they require.  It has been found that some people have significant signs of dehydration when they have lost as little as 2 percent of their body's water.  Some athletes lose as much as 10 percent of their water a day.  This may cause confusion, memory loss, fatigue, and all sorts of issues.

It May Help Prevent Kidney Stones

One of the most painful things that can happen to some people is to have kidney stones.  While it may not be the solution all cases, drinking more water may help keep materials that could cause the stones flushed out of the system.  It may also help move small stones through it.  Making a practice of drinking plenty of water may be the best way to help to avoid the opportunity for these to form.  It can be a great preventative measure for many people.

Water May Help to Manage Weight

Many of us have times in which we struggle to lose weight.  When we do, it may be a challenge to change habits, avoid hunger, and do something positive.  Drinking more water can be a good start for most of us.  Anytime I feel that I need to jump-start a weight loss program, I try to make it a point to start out by drinking much more water.  It can be filling as well as keep away hunger.  It also seems to help to clean the system and give me something to reach for instead of something I shouldn't.
