Outdoor Workouts in Winter? You Bet!

You may love working out in your home, but there is nothing quite like the feeling you get when a cool breeze hits your face as you exercise outdoors. And even though your living room or basement has all the perks you may need, you aren't going to find the fresh air, warm sunshine, and beautiful landscape that Mother Nature provides while staying in your home. Come on, you live in a climate that doesn't require snowshoes or mittens, so there's no reason to keep yourself behind closed doors!

Here's a fun fact you may not have known ... outdoor workouts have a slight edge over the workouts we do inside of our homes (and gyms for that matter). Why? Ask your fellow fitness friends or check online for some local outdoor boot camps. There are sure to be a few offered in parks, greenbelts, or even the parking lot of your gym, you just need to find them! With strength training, cardio fitness, and proper stretching added into your daily routine, it will be easy to improve your overall fitness.

Hit the Local Hotspots

If you are lucky enough to live by the beach or have some beautiful parks and trails at your disposal, taking your workouts outdoors will seem like a dream! There are plenty of exercises you can find on the internet that require minimal equipment, so do your research and then get moving! Just don't forget to pack your water and sunscreen!

Utilize Your Backyard

Just because you aren't working out inside of your home anymore doesn't mean you can't work out on your property! Setting up your equipment in the backyard is a great way to keep the convenience of those in-home workouts while reaping all the benefits of those done outside. Before you start though, you need to consider how you will keep your equipment safe from the elements and theft.
