Dr. Kelvin Bolar joined the family of healthcare providers at The Joint Chiropractic in 2019. A graduate of Central Michigan University, he earned a bachelor's degree in health fitness and rehabilitative methods with a minor in exercise science. He received his doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Kelvin, as his patients call him, is excited to be part of the team of local chiropractors serving Jacksonville.

"One of the best aspects involved with being in the field of chiropractic is the ability to offer an individual pain relief, allowing them to get back to the activities that they enjoy without the use of medication," he says. "The other thing that's gratifying is the opportunity to meet so many people from various backgrounds."

When he's not working, Dr. Kelvin likes going to the movies and building remote control cars with his son. Dr. Kelvin and his spouse share three beautiful dogs Jordan, Zane, and Tank.

He has a passion for chiropractic because there's such a direct connection with the patient. "When I learned of the chiropractic profession and how chiropractors literally take a hands-on approach to naturally help improve the lives of patients, I knew it was something that I had to be part of," he says.

He really appreciates the value of The Joint Chiropractic's services and the extraordinary availability it provides: "The Joint makes chiropractic care affordable and easily accessible to patients, helping to rid them of the hurdle of sticking to appointment times." So as far as Dr. Kelvin is concerned, drop in anytime!

In Case You Didn't Know

Dr. Kelvin says the one thing he always has stocked in his refrigerator is milk, and the reason is pretty obvious, "I don't like dry Frosted Flakes."

If he sat down with any four people from history to create a dinner party of his dreams he would include media mogul Oprah Winfrey, Disney CEO Robert Iger, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. "I would like to have a dinner party with these individuals due to their public reach and employee base," he says. “I would discuss the benefits of chiropractic care in relation to employee productivity and decreased time off due to musculoskeletal issues. My aim would be to get each of these individuals to offer chiropractic care for all of their employees with The Joint Chiropractic as a national partner provider."

Although he may not be very adventurous with his cereal, that's not necessarily the case out in the world. "The coolest thing I have ever done is hike to the top of Mt. Quandary in Colorado," he says. "With an elevation of 14,265 feet, this is the highest that I have ever hiked. If I were to ever do it again, the only thing that I would change would be the time of year: hiking to 14,000 feet in the middle of winter is terribly cold!"

Dr. Drew’s decision to pursue a career in chiropractic care was influenced by a personal experience. After sustaining a football injury, what should have been a season-ending setback turned into a quick recovery, thanks to chiropractic care. This experience ignited his passion for chiropractic care, inspiring him to dedicate his career to helping others experience healing and improved wellness.

A native of Southern Delaware, Dr. Drew practiced in Barrington, New Hampshire, before moving to Florida. His professional approach is focused on not only addressing pain but fostering overall health and wellness. He values the opportunity to work with patients from a wide range of backgrounds, many of whom are new to chiropractic care and benefit from its long-term advantages.

In his free time, Dr. Drew enjoys visiting the beach, traveling, and exploring new culinary experiences. He and his high school sweetheart, Makayla, share their lives with their beloved bull mastiff. Dr. Drew is an advocate of simple pleasures, and his go-to kitchen staple is maple syrup—because, as he says, “It makes everything better.”

Dr. Drew is also excited to be in the process of becoming a published author within his first year of practice, marking a significant achievement early in his career. Dr. Kelvin Bolar joined the family of healthcare providers at The Joint Chiropractic in 2019. A graduate of Central Michigan University, he earned a bachelor's degree in health fitness and rehabilitative methods with a minor in exercise science. He received his doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Kelvin, as his patients call him, is excited to be part of the team of local chiropractors serving Jacksonville.

"One of the best aspects involved with being in the field of chiropractic is the ability to offer an individual pain relief, allowing them to get back to the activities that they enjoy without the use of medication," he says. "The other thing that's gratifying is the opportunity to meet so many people from various backgrounds."

When he's not working, Dr. Kelvin likes going to the movies and building remote control cars with his son. Dr. Kelvin and his spouse share three beautiful dogs Jordan, Zane, and Tank.

He has a passion for chiropractic because there's such a direct connection with the patient. "When I learned of the chiropractic profession and how chiropractors literally take a hands-on approach to naturally help improve the lives of patients, I knew it was something that I had to be part of," he says.

Dr. Kelvin says the one thing he always has stocked in his refrigerator is milk, and the reason is pretty obvious, "I don't like dry Frosted Flakes."

If he sat down with any four people from history to create a dinner party of his dreams he would include media mogul Oprah Winfrey, Disney CEO Robert Iger, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. "I would like to have a dinner party with these individuals due to their public reach and employee base," he says. “I would discuss the benefits of chiropractic care in relation to employee productivity and decreased time off due to musculoskeletal issues. My aim would be to get each of these individuals to offer chiropractic care for all of their employees with The Joint Chiropractic as a national partner provider."

Although he may not be very adventurous with his cereal, that's not necessarily the case out in the world. "The coolest thing I have ever done is hike to the top of Mt. Quandary in Colorado," he says. "With an elevation of 14,265 feet, this is the highest that I have ever hiked. If I were to ever do it again, the only thing that I would change would be the time of year: hiking to 14,000 feet in the middle of winter is terribly cold!"

After sustaining a football injury, what should have been a season-ending setback turned into a quick recovery, thanks to chiropractic care. This experience ignited his passion for chiropractic care, inspiring him to dedicate his career to helping others experience healing and improved wellness.

A native of Southern Delaware, Dr. Drew practiced in Barrington, New Hampshire, before moving to Florida. His professional approach is focused on not only addressing pain but fostering overall health and wellness. He values the opportunity to work with patients from a wide range of backgrounds, many of whom are new to chiropractic care and benefit from its long-term advantages.

    THIS WAS THE BEST CHIROPRACTOR EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. My previous experience at a chiropractor was horrible. The Dr. didn't listen to me regarding my fear of cracking my neck. I always flinch.     I went in for the $29 special and signed up for the monthly program for $79. When I signed all the paperwork, the print was small and didn't realize i actually signed up for a 3 month atu billing program. I did ask the girl at the desk about it and was told it's month to month. After my 1st month decided not to go back, then to my surprise was billed $79. I did reach out and received an email saying I signed up for it and they would cancel the 3rd month if I signed some paperwork, however NO refund for the 2nd month that I was automatically billed for. I did let them know that the print was small and relied on the girl at the desk to understand everything. So , just filed a dispute with my cc company and will never go back here again. They could have easily refunded my money. Be wary......

    I was interested in reopening my membership with them after having such an amazing experience previously. I called today and spoke with someone whose name I believe was Olivia, or something similar. She answered the phone so casually, almost as if I had called her personal number rather than a business line. I actually had to ask if I had reached Joint Chiropractic because I wasn’t sure.     STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND! Save your time and choose some better other one! My straight appointment was for 1PM on Sunday, I didn’t miss my appointment - I showed up at 12:50, exactly 10 minutes early. What this clinic really showed was how little they care about their patients (and the future patients they could have gotten through my recommendation). The moment I walked in, I was first told that my appointment didn’t even exist. Then I was told that if I wanted to be seen, I’d have to wait at least another hour. That’s not a mistake -that’s a complete lack of respect for people’s time. If this is how they treat patients before they even get into the exam room, it says a lot about the quality of the care they provide as well. No, I don’t want reschedule (no sense) and now I strongly NOT RECOMMEND it for anyone with that kind of attitude towards customers!

I am able to workout intensely with peace of mind since I know that Dr. Eric “ has my back “ ( pun intended ) .     I am not one that usually writes reviews, but the care I received here was phenomenal. I had been having sciatic pain for about a week and my husband talked me into going to the Joint. Dr Emmanuel was so patient, knowledgeable and caring. After the first visit I felt so much relief. We are not from Jacksonville so I will miss him when we return home.

    I have been a patient at this location since the beginning. Quick service. Since the change in ownership the atmosphere and the doctors have all changed and not for the better. Some of the doctors are good but the great ones have left or were let go. I am sad to leave the joint but happy to follow Dr. Phil to his new location.

    I came to this location for the first time, after going to many locations in the past. I’m a military veteran, and my body is pretty banged up. So i was looking forward to this adjustment. I walked in and did the required paper work, and waited my turn, like all of the walk-ins that were waiting. I sat there for 30 minutes. 3 clients who came in after me, all went back before i did. I even clarified with the receptionist that they were walk ins. That was very frustrating.

    This review has nothing to do with the people working in the offices. They are really good. When I first started coming the paperwork( to be filled out every 30 days) was 2 pages long. Every year more it gets longer and now it is 12+ pages long. BUT if you sign up for a plan it is only filled out once per year. As a senior on Medicare they can only charge me $29. If I sign up for the minimum plan will cost me inc tax about $35 per visit. Let's make this so difficult that a long time customer walks out and they will never get another dime from me.

    Been here plenty of time and never had an issue. I came in at 6:15 the lady at the desk said I needed to do paperwork before being seen. The paperwork takes 3 mins to do because all my information is in the system but because I need to do paperwork I couldn't get treated that day. I asked her can I just do it right now sense Im already here and she I have to come back tomorrow. Why do I need to come back when I'm the ONLY one here and it takes 3 mins to do and this location closes at 7 and the adjustment takes no longer then 5 mins. Why make another trip here over 3 mins update of my information? I leave and sit in the car to do the update paperwork and 3 people walked in after me. They didn't leave right away so I'm assuming they got treated. 3 minute update information paperwork seems silly to turn a customer away 45 mins be closing especially when getting adjusted takes a whole 5 mins. I guess closing is when the Dr. doesn't want to do anymore work for the day.

    I'm new in town and was worried ? about going to a new chiropractor. Well....I thought the one I was using for months was the best...oh my, I didn't meet Dr. Nolan. I have NOT been able to move my neck for months even after multiple adjustments. Well... I've seen Dr. Nolan twice, and the pain in my lower back is less, and my neck can move!!!! I can not believe how much stress was in my neck and shoulders keeping me from turning my neck! ? I can not believe the relief I've received in 2 visits with Dr. Nolan.     I was told over the phone that you can no longer pause/cancel memberships over the phone as of “couple months ago”. Not what I was told when I signed up about 9 months ago. Update: This practice allowed me to cancel over email. I think I still ended up going in and completing the form on paper.     Due to holiday hours and closed more often than usual over the last month I was struggling to get there to use my adjustments on the wellness plan this month before it expired. We are a 1 vehicle family with 4 kids. I knew that today was the last opportunity I had to get adjusted during the cycle I already paid for so I set an alarm for when they opened so I could go right over. I got there at 11:15. There were 2 Dr's in Dr Sara & Dr Ben. I walked in with 3 of my 4 children and though I could have seen Dr. Sara with Minimal wait, I've seen her a couple times in the past and though it's not personal, I do not ever feel like I got a good adjustment when I leave so I requested to see Dr. Ben. There were 2 people already waiting in front of me. After waiting 15+ minutes (with 3 antsy young children) and 1 person going back to see the other dr, a couple more people walked in. One of them also requested Dr Ben. She then informed him it would likely be 35+ minutes because he had a new patient he was taking (already in the waiting room when I arrived), then me. The receptionist at that point apologized to me and said I'm sorry I didn't mention the new patient in front of you. I told her it was fine and I understood. After all, it's a clinc on a walk in basis and the new patient was already waiting when I walked in. She said thank you, not everyone can be so patient. The man who had then requested Dr Ben (who arrived well after the new patient and 15+ minutes after me) asked the receptionist to use the bathroom, she replied "off course ". The man then walks back to the bathroom then turns to Dr Ben working with the patient that he's been with the entire time I've been waiting and mentions he really needs seen and Dr Ben tells him okay just hang right here. Finished up then took that guy in front of both of us. I thought it was both extremely rude (of the man)and highly unprofessional of Dr. Ben. I got up immediately and took myself out of the que because how was I supposed to relax for an adjustment now that it was made clear that my time was not as important as this man's. The other location close to me is closed today and so I paid for an adjustment I will not receive. I might have felt differently if he and I had walked in at the same time and I was "just barely" in front of him OR if he had personally asked us in the waiting room if it was okay he go first. Obviously I have no idea why he thought he needed to skip the line. Either way the Dr allowed him to do it without even considering that me or the new patient also had somewhere to be or a schedule to keep is just baffling to me. It would help if these adjustments didn't expire and rolled over so I could just go tomorrow but I will be canceling for sure and being seen elsewhere.

    I’ve fallen in love with The Joint. Was never a Chiro person, thought it would be too costly and time consuming. I have been a patient for about a year can’t imagine stopping anytime soon. There are multiple Jax locations, all available as a walk in with reasonable hours. I am thrilled with The Joint! Before starting, I had multiple areas in my lower body that constantly ached, I had no clue the Chiro could help. After my second adjustment, the pains were all but gone! After a few adjustments, not a single lingering ache or pain remains - truly shocked and amazed. I am always amazed how they can just touch your back and know where you are sore without a word exchanged. Just this week, I thought I had a bruise or similar - Doc cracked my neck and the pain instantly disappeared. Wouldn’t have even thought to mention it, she felt the issue - relieved it - asked “how’s that” and to my amazement she had relieved pain I attributed to a random injury and not being out of alignment. I never knew it could be so good!

    I was desperate on Sunday to find a chiropractor to help with crippling new lower back pain that did not go away after six days. I have not needed a chiropractor in 20 years. This place - part of a nationwide chain - is open every Sunday. I went there when they opened -- by the time I left there was a line of patients out the door. Doctor Rick was superb!     The Joint is great! I’d always been a Devoted chiropractic patient. And was concerned that rotating doctors would interfere with the continuity of care. But it has not at all. Each doctor that I’ve seen has been incredibly thorough has excellent knowledge and I really enjoy experiencing everyone’s different techniques. I have not had a bad experience there. It’s so nice to be able to drop in when I have the time as opposed to having to schedule and fit in an appointment. My only regret is not starting here sooner!

    I have been going to chiropractors on and off my whole life and I’ve never had an experience quite like this one. I see why they call it the “Joint” chiropractic because they herd you into a room with a bunch of other people in the same room getting adjusted at the same time as you, it is kind of strange. I totally understand why it is only $19 a visit. I guess, you get what you pay for. From the time I entered until the time I left it was about four minutes. I have been to this location about six times and once when getting adjusted a very large woman slipped and fell on my exposed rib cage and cracked two ribs..She realized right away that something happened and she was very nice about it. However, I was still in pain for about a month, like crazy pain. Dr. Phil called me back right away when I called him and he was actually very fantastic about it. Very empathetic. Of all the people working here, he was by far the best. Looks like he got out while he could. Good for him. This may be great for those that don’t understand much about chiropractic practices, but I can’t recommend this practice or this location.There are so many great alternatives. I called to verify my account(because I was injured) and the lady in account billing was extremely rude to me..she basically told me she was going to charge me anyway, regardless if I was injured and could not receive any more treatments. Keep in mind this is an injury that they did . I signed the waiver saying that this could happen so I get it but obviously I can’t come get adjusted if I’m injured .I’m in customer service myself as I own several businesses in the Jacksonville area so I know what customer service is all about.. this was very poor customer service. Look at my reviews..I don’t generally give low ratings.

    The joint chiropractic isn’t your ordinary chiropractic office instead of taking health insurance, you pay a little fee and get 4 adjustments a month. it’s quite nice and for those without health insurance it’s inexpensive. you don’t have to make appointments. You can just walk in and be adjusted. all of my experiences so far I’ve been wonderful.

I bought a membership for me and a girlfriend and cancelled her membership after a month. 6 months later i noticed fraud charges from the joint coming to my credit card. Speaking to Grace she told me that the only way to correct this is to "figure it out" with a girl i no longer speak to as she has to repay me the $180 of fraud charges levied by the Joint. YES!     My husband and I had been patients at this place since 2019 and let me tell you when Dr. Phill Scheets was there everything was amazing. Everything smelled good, customer service was great and Dr. Phil always listened and new exactly what to do with all our chiropractic adjustment needs. The place was full and in all it was just a very nice environment to be in. With the new management everything changed. Most of the Chiropractors in there do not know how to give proper customer service let alone chiropractic adjustment care. My husband and I tried to be seen by different chiropractors in there now that Dr. Phil was let go. (I asked the staff what happened and this was all I could get, no reference as to where he went) Most of them do not have proper training/experience and/or body strength to be adjusting anyone and their attitudes are just rude. Even the staff at the front desk are rude and unwelcoming. They are simply not what the team used to be before the new management and the chiropractic care is basically gone. Most of the stuff they do in there now I can do it at home. So my husband and I decided to cancel our memberships and track down Dr. Phil Scheets and I am so greatful for google ? . Easy online search and we found him and we are back to finally getting proper chiropractic adjustments again. Do not recommend to anyone trying to get proper neck and/or back adjustments. Most chiropractors in there cannot do them right.

    While speaking with Dr. Kevin Zelaya about how my back went out the day before while golfing, I did 2 air squats and 2 legs swings to loosen up my back. This took all of 20 seconds and during that time I was explaining my back pain and talking about my last appointment being 28 days prior. Again lasting 20 seconds. He then says yep go ahead and get on table and when you’re waiting out front is a better time to do your stretches. After procedure I said sorry for wasting 30 seconds of your time. Albeit I was wasting none as I was going over my current pain level at the same time. He then says well when everyone does it, it adds up. There was nobody waiting behind me. My appointment lasted all of 3 minutes. If he doesn’t have the patience to listen for 30 seconds about my current pain level then he has no business adjusting clients. I have been a monthly customer for a few months now and have had great experiences with everyone but him. I come specifically for the classic low back crack when laying on side. My first appointment with him he did the face down cracks using the table and I said hey can you do the one on the side. His response was “I know what I’m doing, the idea isn’t to just crack whatever you want”. Well I’ve been going to chiropractors for longer than he’s been licensed and that’s the only thing that relieves pain when my back is out. This doctor truly doesn’t understand working with patients and needs training. Dr Phil and the others have been great so far!

    Started coming to this location after deployment two years ago and Dr. Phil got me back in working order and stronger than before. I continued my membership and later packages due to my travels. However, I recently learned Dr. Phil is no longer at this location. The young lady at the front desk was super professional and didn’t disclose any reasons why he wasn’t there and that was the right thing to do. However, I’m highly disappointed he is not longer there and I’ll no longer be using The Joint. But I’d like some answers on why Dr. Phil is no longer with The Joint. Severely disappointed.

    I came in unable to look to my right at all. Dr. Bruce made me feel very welcomed and comfortable on my first visit. I came in for help with a specific problem and purchased a package, their services didn't not help my needs, so I wanted to take my business else where.     I should have realized the red flag when one of the doctors was literally gloating about how they continue to overcharge patients who they don’t see for months at a time. Then the patient calls wondering why they continue to get charged but The Joint won’t do anything cause too bad for the patient! Then the doctor laughed. My terrible experience came when I tried to use my final visit. They knowingly lied to me, telling me my last day to use my visits, but when I showed up that day, they tried to charge me full price. I spoke to the head doctor, Phil, but he refused to help… because he was the doctor who made the crass joke weeks earlier about happily overcharging people who don’t use their service. I look forward to their reply here trying to explain why they wouldn’t honor my final, paid for visit when I clearly had enough left. I was very disappointed in the end, and will not be returning, and neither should anyone else. The impossible to find parking and weird doctors were enough to make me never want to return anyways. You know you deserve a better chiropractor, find it elsewhere!

    I was dealing with some serious shoulder and neck stiffness from construction work and Dr Jon put me through a series of adjustments that had an immediate effect. He was cautious not to push too far with how stiff I was in the neck. I slept better that night and woke up more refreshed. I will be heading back tomorrow for a follow up adjustment which is my normal process when dealing with long term spine issues. Great experience and friendly staff.

If your a new patient I definitely recommend getting established during the week, once you are established the visits go very quickly.

    I stopped by The Joint this morning for the first time. While the new patient paperwork and consult was longer than I wanted, the adjustment from young Dr. Ben was one of the best adjustments I’ve ever received. Having visited multiple chiropractors and done multiple health/wellness plans, I’ve heard every possible sales pitch for their weekly wellness plans. In general, I am an advocate for chiropractic upkeep, but my rule of thumb is ‘let the adjustment speak for itself’. The doctor’s special touch will tell me if I’m returning to that practice. And Ben didn’t disappoint. I look forward to my next visit!

    My fiance schedule me an appointment 2 days ago for 1:30 p.m. I arrived at 1:20 p.m. on the day of the appointment and I am told that there will be an hour or two late because there are other new patients in front of me. And my past experience when you set an appointment with somebody that means that's the time you were going to have the procedure done or whatever the appointment is for is going to happen at that specified time. I put off going to help my mother do things around her home because I couldn't go out there and make it back in time for my appointment so not only is my back in serious pain but I put my mother off and didn't get to help her do what she needed to do it's a very unprofessional company to handle their appointments and scheduling like that!

    Very skeptical about a walk-in chiropractor but Dr. Phil and his associates are excellent. Hardly ever a wait, and the staff are always so friendly. It’s so convenient for a college student or busy professional. Going here without insurance costs less than my co-pay other places. Highly recommend.

    I have never felt better thanks to the doctors at The Joint (town center). I went in with severe lower back pain. For about two months straight, I could barely stand up straight and every move I made caused me pain. After my second or third visit, I completely forgot I had any pain at all because, in less than a month, it’s all gone now! The doctors are incredible and quick; I’ve been to Dr. Phil and Dr. Jon so far but I’d see any of them because I’m sure they’re all fantastic!

    It’s been really hard for my husband and I to find a Chiro that has availability that fits our schedule. We don’t have to make an appt. and can stop by any day of the week.     I've seen many chiro.'s over the yrs with mixed results. Dr. Phil used a few techniques I've never had performed before and had instant relief in my problem areas. Dr. Phil is who I will be visiting for my chiropractic needs for now on. The monthly plan gives me 4 visits for 69.00 . Any visits over the 4 is only 10.00. Best bang for the buck considering this past 3 months I went several times a week. My profession requires me to be a contortionist and Dr. Phil has given me the relief I need to perform my job.

    I came in to see someone about chronic shoulder pain that I’ve been dealing with for over a year. I wasn’t super hopeful, as I’d been to other chiropractors before and it’d had only been a Band Aid fix. I workout with a pretty high impact gym routine six days a week so pretty much weekly my shoulder pain would get out of control and I’d had no consistent relief. I’ve been seeing Dr. Phil (and Dr. Evan and some others) for the last two months and finally, this entire past week I’ve had no pain at all. I know this is because the chiropractic routine has readjusted my bones and my muscles have begun to “remember” how to operate within proper function. I’m so thankful for this place!!!!

    I went in today for an appointment with Dr. Cameron after 5 days of being in immense pain. I was referred to another chiropractor however I choose this one due to the reviews as well as the cost. With insurance (Blue Cross and Blue Shield) for me to see the Dr. I was referred to for an initia consultation it was roughly (500.00) of which my copay would have been 250.00. To see Dr. Cameron today the visit was to cost $29.00 without even using my insurance. Upon arriving I was greeted by Shae a wonderful young woman with a positive attitude who assured me that the staff at The Joint Chiropractic would do everything in their power to help ease my pain and help make me feel better. She was more than accommodating. I was taken back in less than 5 minutes upon completing my paperwork. Once taken back I was treated professionally and with incredible understanding by the Doctor. I was treated so well I was in tears by the end of my visit due to both his kindness and assurance that this will not be a permenant situation. He was more than willing to help and offered every available option and support to me even when he was able to determine I needed to be referred out. I left this facility still feeling pain but definitely not from a lack of effort on the part of the staff. I have never written a review for any facility however I felt I had to after my treatment today. Thank you again to the staff at The Joint Chiropractor!
