Summer Habits That Should Stay Year-Round

Many of us have our habits that we're used to every summer. Maybe you visit a farmers market each week to get fresh fruit and vegetables. You may work out in water. Applying sunscreen any time you're outside should also be on the list. Once the season ends many people stop doing these things. These summer habits should really stay year-round for our well-being.

Shop for In-Season Produce

Farmers markets are commonly seen throughout the summer. You may find yourself visiting these markets to search for the freshest, in-season produce you can find. Don't stop shopping the in-season options when the weather changes. Even if you can't find a market nearby, some are still held throughout the winter. Search for possibilities so you can get fresh fruits and vegetables that are the best tasting for the season you're in -- even if it's fall or winter. Pumpkin is great for fall while squash bodes well in the winter, for example. They'll be the most nutritious.

Always Apply Sunscreen

Lots of people realize the need for sunscreen when the weather is warm. Just because the air feels cold in the fall and winter doesn't mean sunscreen isn't still needed. You should be applying sunscreen throughout the entire year. Even cloudy days allow the sun to peak through and emit their harmful rays. Keep sunscreen on anytime you're outdoors, no matter the temperature or how the sky looks.

Stick With Sunglasses

Your eyes get harmed by the sun just as your skin does. You should be sticking with sunglasses all throughout the year just as you should with sunscreen. Always make sure to keep a pair with you so you can put them on when the sun shines even just a bit too bright. They'll help keep you protected from damage.

Work Out in Water

Water workouts are common throughout the summer when the weather is warm. Even if you can't get outside to enjoy a workout at the beach, there's still indoor water locations available where you can exercise.
