Dr. Tyler Nygren is a chiropractor promoting evidence-based treatment. An associate of The Joint Chiropractic since 2022, he has been working diligently to expand access to affordable, high-quality chiropractic services. He takes pride in crafting individualized treatment plans with problem-specific outcome measurements focused on pain reduction, motion improvement, and functional growth.

He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. His clinical internship and subsequent preceptorship were completed under Drs. Michael Tomasello and Daniel Smith, and, later, Dr. Robert Bacon. He remains an active member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and is licensed to practice chiropractic in both Tennessee and Georgia.

Clinically, Dr. Tyler gravitates toward hands-on manipulation and mobilization techniques. He integrates active rehabilitation into treatment, as the practice has been repeatedly shown to improve outcomes. He adheres to evaluation and treatment guidelines established by the ABIM Foundation and adopted by the ACA. These guidelines discourage routine spinal imaging and protracted use of passive physical therapeutic modalities. He partners with both Prime Imaging and Chattanooga Imaging for cases where x-ray evaluation is necessary.

His grandfather, mother, and uncle precede him in the chiropractic profession, graduating in 1967, 1998, and 2014, respectively. This lifelong exposure has provided him with a unique perspective. Frustrated with aspects of the profession’s legacy, he has dedicated countless hours to the development of systems and resources that better support his patients and colleagues. He believes that, fundamentally, good systems that support physicians are the key to improving outcomes and eliminating errors.

He developed a deep interest in data-driven problem-solving through involvement with robotics, engineering, and technical clubs in his hometown of Van Wert, Ohio. He dual enrolled at Van Wert High School and The Ohio State University, later graduating with honors. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Life University. He first practiced with The Joint Chiropractic in Indiana before transferring to Tennessee, strongly believing that Chattanooga is the best place him and his wife can raise their daughter.
