Start Your Morning Right With These Tips

Plenty of people wake up less than thrilled that they have to do so. It can be tough to get up in the morning when you still feel tired and have little energy to make it through your day. With some tips in mind, you can start your morning right and raise that energy you require.

Stretch

Don't just hop out of bed and attempt to get ready. Your joints are most likely stiff and sore from remaining in the same position most of the night. Before your feet even hit the ground, do a few stretches to help loosen up. Once you stand, complete a few more stretches to ensure your entire body has been stretched out and is adequately prepared for movement. Simple options, such as reaching your arms in the air, reaching down to touch your toes, and grabbing each hand behind your back can really help stretch out the spine.

Drink a Glass of Water

Drinking a glass of water right away in the morning helps get all your systems started. You'll be rehydrating your body from the eight (or so) hours of drought it just experienced overnight. You'll also be filling your belly a little, meaning you won't need to take in as many calories during breakfast to feel full and satisfied. Keep a bottle of water by your bed so you can drink some when you wake or head to the sink first thing in the morning to fill a glass.

Fuel Yourself With Food

One glass of water isn't enough to fuel your body and give you the energy you need for your day. You need to fuel yourself with food as well. It's wise to eat a protein-heavy meal that will satisfy your hunger and keep you satiated until lunchtime. A smoothie is a valid option, as is a meal replacement shake. Eggs and whole-grain toast also make a good breakfast.

Create a Quick To-Do List

If you don't already have a to-do list made up, morning is a great time to make one. Jot down a quick to-do list for your day so you know which tasks you need to accomplish. It can help you stay organized and on track throughout your day and help you remember what all you need to finish.

Start your morning right with these tips in mind and you'll be able to make it through your day well. Fail to follow the recommendations and you'll be more likely to experience a low-energy day that's difficult to get through.
