Dr. Derrick Pousson was born and raised in Round Lake, IL. He attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville where he was a 4 year starter for the Wrestling program while studying Exercise Science.

In 2014, he enrolled In Logan Chiropractic because while wrestling at a high level his body needed regular tune-ups. This made him a firm believer in Chiropractic’s fundamental principal of ‘removing restrictions in the body’s ability to heal itself.’

His mother was told she would need neck surgery to ‘feel better.’ Dr. Derrick asked her to wait just a little bit until he could help her. His first adjustment after graduating April 2017 was for her, and after that she felt instant sinus/headache relief, was able to move her head easier, and canceled her surgery.

Dr. Marvin Jackson, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Elston & Logan

Dr. Marvin Jackson was born and raised in a small rural town in Alabama. He graduated from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with a Bachelor of Science. Dr. Jackson earned his doctorate of chiropractic from National University of Health Science.

Dr. Jackson has worked on patients from as young as 24 hours old to 95 years old. He enjoys helping people get back to enjoying their lives. His focus is compassionate, efficient; top quality health care for patients suffering from spine, extremity, neurological, and muscular pain. He has treated a range of conditions: migraines, headaches, back pains, allergies, sport injuries, and sciatica. He is pursuing board certification in acupuncture.

Dr. Jackson is a passionate teacher. He has taught anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology at Cortiva Institute, MacCormac Institute and the Soma Institute.

When Dr. Jackson is not seeing patients he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and three children. Beside chiropractic, he is quick to state that is what keeps him young and forward thinking. He loves doing outdoor activities such as gardening and grilling. He is excited about being a new member of the Joint Chiropractic Organization and looks forward to providing the highest level of chiropractic service to you and will be grateful to have you under his care.

Dr. J. Robinson Alexis was born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti and relocated to the U.S. when he was eight years old. After growing up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida he moved to Illinois to further his education. Dr. Alexis received his bachelors of science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

On January 10, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, killing more than 230,000 people and wounding more. Saddened by this tragic event, Dr. Alexis returned to Haiti to aid relief effort. During his time in Haiti, Dr. Alexis served as a translator for Haitian creole speakers and English speakers. While serving as a translator, Dr. Alexis met an individual who changed his life. This life impacting individual was a chiropractor. Dr. Alexis watched him help countless people, while only using his hands.

Upon returning to the States, Dr. Alexis went on to achieve his doctorate of chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic where he was the president of Student American Black Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Alexis knows the power of chiropractic and is using the skills and experience to improve the quality of life for his patients. His goal as a chiropractor is to identify how the body is impacted by daily life events, correct the imbalances which can lead to the early degeneration and increased risk for injury and illness.

I have worked in many places (even as far as Lima, Peru) treating a wide array of conditions. My goal for each of my patients is to help them achieve improved movement and mobility so that they can live their best and fullest life. I believe that the key to maintaining good health and wellness is an individual's commitment to a routine that supports this outcome. Outside of work, I love spending time with family, our dogs as well as playing sand volleyball, biking, paddle boarding and running.
