Meet The Doctors
. Matthew Wise has been involved with The Joint Chiropractic in 2019. He earned his doctorate from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2003 and went on to own and operate multiple inter-disciplinary clinics, gaining experience specializing in treatment of athletes then moving on to later specialize in spinal disc and neuropathy treatment. After getting fed up with the frustrations of health insurance and its limitations, Dr. Wise was looking for a new practice model, better for both the practitioner and the patient, and was attracted by The Joint Chiropractic.
. Wise has a strong passion for excellence and a concierge-style approach when treating his patients. After suffering from knee pain while playing sports in high school, he was ultimately helped by a chiropractor and has had a passion for chiropractic care ever since.
The Chiropractic techniques he uses in practice are mainly Diversified, Thompson, ART, and Activator Methods. He subscribes to a "Total Body" approach to health care and has worked with MD's, PT's, LMT's, Orthopedists and Neurologists in order to provide the best possible care to his patients.
What patients love most about Dr. Chism is her welcoming demeanor and gentle, on-the-spot adjustments. She treats everyone like a part of The Joint family. As an athletic training student at Southeast Missouri State University, Dr. Chism realized her purpose was to help people. She shadowed the team chiropractor and on her first day, she watched a patient with Bell's Palsy improve their smile by 50% after their first adjustment. After that, she knew her mission was to give people hope and health through chiropractic.
Her love for chiropractic stems from her desire to show patients how to reach their goals without medication or surgery. She believes although it's very common to have pain or dysfunction, living with it is not normal. For Dr. Chism, wellness means being able to enjoy every day of life without having to perform daily activities in pain.
In her professional life, she earned a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southeast Missouri State University. She then attended Logan University and graduated with her Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2021. Dr. Chism specializes in sports injuries and enjoys continually learning about active rehab, extremity injuries, concussion management and holistic health.
