OUR SERVICES
Chiropractic Care Personalized For Every Body
A Natural Approach To Drug-free Pain Relief
Every body is different, and so is every path to feeling better. At The Joint Chiropractic, we take a
personalized, hands-on approach to care that supports your lifestyle and health goals without the use of
drugs or invasive treatments.
From easing pain and improving mobility to supporting long-term wellness, our licensed chiropractors
provide natural care designed to help you move better and live more fully. Whether you’re recovering from
an injury, navigating pregnancy, or staying proactive about your health, we’re here for every age and
stage.
Chiropractic care is a noninvasive, drug-free approach to managing discomfort and supporting mobility.
Adjustments focus on the root cause of pain and tension, helping your body function and heal the way it
was designed to. Many people choose chiropractic as part of their long-term wellness routine. For some, it
may even serve as an alternative to more invasive treatments.
We care for people of all ages and activity levels. Whether you’re active, expecting, recovering, or
maintaining your routine, chiropractic adjustments may help you move more comfortably and feel more like
yourself.
Targeted, hands-on pressure aims to realign joints, reduce nerve interference, and relieve
tension. This
helps improve mobility and allows the body to function more efficiently. Chiropractic at its
core, this
technique supports long-term wellness by addressing the root causes of pain and imbalance. For
many
patients, it may offer a path to relief without relying on medication or invasive procedures.
Who it’s for Athletes and Weekend Warriors, Office Workers, After an
Accident
We use gentle chiropractic adjustments for the shoulders, wrists, knees, and other extremity
joints to
support proper alignment, posture, and whole-body function. By improving joint motion and
reducing tension,
these adjustments may help ease discomfort, improve mobility, and promote better movement
patterns. For
patients recovering from minor injuries as a result of an accident or managing chronic joint
issues,
chiropractic care can be a supportive tool as they navigate next steps with their broader care
team,
including physical therapists, orthopedists, or primary care providers.
Who it’s for Children, Older Adults, Individuals Recovering from Injuries, Any
Needing a More Gentle Adjustment
Activator-assisted
adjustments
use a small handheld instrument to deliver gentle, targeted pressure to specific areas of the
spine or
joints. This low-force technique is ideal for those who need a more delicate approach,
including young
children, older adults, and individuals recovering from injuries. The activator tool helps
improve spinal
alignment, reduce nerve interference, and support better mobility without the need for
twisting or
high-impact movements. It’s a widely used method that offers precise care while supporting
comfort,
safety, and healing.
Who it’s for Office Workers, Workers in Physically Demanding Roles, Children
& Teens
Posture affects everything from how you move to how you feel. During a postural and movement
assessment, we observe how you sit, stand, walk, and perform everyday motions to identify
imbalances, compensations, or strain patterns. These assessments are especially helpful for
people who spend long hours at a desk, work in physically demanding environments, or are still
growing and developing, such as children and teens. By understanding your movement habits, we
can recommend simple changes to your posture, workspace, or daily routine. These changes may
help reduce tension, improve mobility, and prevent future discomfort. Small adjustments can lead
to meaningful improvements in how your body functions and feels each day.
Who it’s for Office Workers, Caregivers, Seniors
Small, intentional changes in your daily habits can have a lasting impact on your comfort and
mobility. We
offer personalized guidance to help you support your spine and joints at home, at work, and
during your
regular routines. Whether you sit at a desk, lift and carry throughout the day, or are
navigating the
physical changes that come with age, we focus on practical strategies you can implement right
away. From
adjusting your workstation setup to improving your sleep posture or lifting techniques, our
ergonomic and
lifestyle recommendations are designed to reduce strain, prevent recurring issues, and help you
feel better
every day.
Who it’s for Children & Teens
Children grow fast, and their spines grow right along with them. Our pediatric and family care
uses gentle,
age-appropriate techniques to support healthy spinal alignment and nervous system function
throughout every
stage of childhood. From newborns experiencing colic or infant reflux to toddlers learning to
walk and
school-aged children dealing with growing pains, ear infections, or tech neck, we tailor our
care to meet
your child’s unique needs. For teens balancing sports, screen time, and stress, chiropractic
care can help
support better posture, mobility, and comfort. Our goal is to help your child move, grow, and
thrive with
greater confidence while giving parents peace of mind.
Pregnancy brings rapid physical changes that can lead to joint discomfort, lower back pain, and
postural
shifts. Our doctors offer gentle chiropractic care designed to support comfort, spinal
alignment, and
overall mobility throughout pregnancy. Regular care during this time may help reduce tension,
ease strain on
joints and muscles, and promote better function as your body adapts to each stage of pregnancy.

Dr Katie Keene was born and raised in Louisville, KY where she attended the University of Louisville on an academic scholarship, studying Anthropology and Biology. Following her graduation in 2005 she worked as an archeological technician with an environmental engineering firm in Louisville. Within a year she switched paths with the same company to be the subcontracts coordinator for the engineering division. During her tenure with the engineering firm she sustained a low back injury by carrying an empty 2 drawer filing cabinet up 2 flights of steps. This injury led her to a chiropractor for the first time where she learned what chiropractic can do for the body without medications and surgeries. She has been a faithful chiropractic patient ever since.
Dr Katie’s realized that each time she was adjusted in the morning before going to work, she would have a better outlook on life and work, as well as having a better overall day. She decided she wanted to do the same for other people, leading her to enroll at Palmer College of Chiropractic, graduating Magna Cum Late in 2013.
Since 2014, Dr Katie has helped people reduce pain and improve their health in Defiance and Cincinnati, OH, as well as Corydon, Clarksville and Bloomington, IN. She uses traditional manual chiropractic techniques such as Gonstead, Thompson, Diversified, Flexion and Distraction, as well as Activator. Another skill she is certified in is NIMMO Receptor Tonus Technique – which helps eliminate trigger points and fascial adhesions.
Though Dr Katie has been with traditional chiropractic wellness offices in the past, she is excited to be a doctor with The Joint at the Bloomington, IN location, which opened in 2024. Her goal is to help give all of her patients “better days”. One of her favorite aspects of chiropractic is seeing the joy and relief on her patients’ faces after they have had their adjustments.
When not working, Dr Katie likes to spend as much time as possible with her husband and stepson, as well as their 3 dogs: Bear, Bertie and Midas. She also loves to travel, take road trips and watch the sunrise and set over open water. When the opportunity presents, she dabbles in nature photography.
As a good southern girl, Dr. Katie always has Duke’s mayonnaise in her fridge, along with eggs and pre-cooked bacon.
If she could put together a dinner party, she’d invite Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Betty White, Amelia Earhart and Robin Williams. Each of these people have made measurable contributions to our society, whether in adventure, women’s rights, or entertainment. Each person has had such an extensive life, it would be wonderful to hear each of their stories and perspectives and their lives, careers and how the world has changed throughout their lifetimes.
Something interesting about Dr Katie is that through the University of Louisville Department of Anthropology and Archaeology, she was a member of the Jefferson County (KY) Cemetery Investigation team – locating all historic and unmarked cemeteries around the county. With this she also was a team member assisting the department with cemetery investigations and disinterments at a local cemetery which fell upon hard times and bad business practices. Part of the work she assisted the school with was discussed in a documentary shown on a major streaming platform about the cemetery and what led to its downfall.

I’ve been a patient for over a year and will probably be one until the day I die. When I first went to The Joint I had a lot of lower back troubles that were paired with a migraine that would bring me to tears. Now I go once a week for a weekly adjustment and haven’t had those painful back troubles nor the migraines. Coming to The Joint has truly been life changing for me. I was super hesitant about joining another membership place where I’d just be another member number, that is so not the case here.

LOVE Dr. Katie! She is SO skilled and talented. She talks you through what is happening and takes her time to be gentle and precise. She has helped me tremendously and I’ve only had two sessions. I was a wreck when I came in, but she knew exactly what to do and my body pain leaned I was able to sleep so good later that night! I love that this practice is walk-in for desperate moments and has excellent hours to meet anyone’s needs. Thank you everyone at Blooomington’s “The Joint Chiropractic”!

It’s a scam. Would give this place 0 stars if it would let me. This place doesn’t want you to get better they do the bare minimum and sell you that you need to come back once a week. A real chiropractor is going to want you to get better and not need to come back. No heat therapy, no soft tissue work, no assessment of the cause of pain, no plan (other than to come back lol) to resolve the issue. Only reason I went to this lousy place is because I am out of state, Chiro from home I go to maybe once a year and that is when I get behind the 8ball on doing the strengthen and exercises he gives me. He would be appalled at this place. I don’t know how Dr Katie is not ashamed of the scam she is selling people. They get you in the door with a cheap initial visit that lasted all of 10 minutes, Dr made adjustments that I could make on a chair at subway.

We are visiting The Joint from Arizona. We just saw Dr. Katie at the Bloomington IN. One of the best adjustments I’ve had at the Joint. She was very intuitive and kind and spent a good amount of time with both myself and my husband. She was wonderful! Thank you
