Dr. Paul Sommer is the full time DC at The Joint in Shawnee. Dr. Paul looks forward to meeting new patients and continuing treatment with established patients. Helping reduce pain and improving quality of life for patients is his goal. He grew up on a farm in southeast Kansas. A good work ethic was ingrained on the farm and regular care of crops and animals. Dr. Paul’s attention was captured by sports. He began receiving Chiropractic treatment for sports injuries by the age of 12. Chiropractic reduced pain and recovery time. He continued treatment through college football and baseball. This led to exploring the possibility of becoming a Chiropractor.

Dr. Paul attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, receiving a bachelors in biology. He then attended Cleveland Chiropractic Kansas City. He opened private practice in rural Kansas and was proud to offer free treatment of sports injuries to high school students. This introduced young people to the benefits of Chiropractic. Patients of all ages can benefit from Chiropractic.

While growing up on the farm Dr. Paul learned the importance of regular care to equipment, crops and livestock. This carried into the regular care people need to maintain quality of life. While far removed from the farm, these values continue in caring for patients. Dr. Paul likes to maintain his yard, home and vehicles to prevent something small from turning into something harder to fix. Sounds like Chiropractic philosophy.
