Fall Is a Good Time for Chiropractic

By Paul Rothbart

The end of summer means the beginning of fall. Cooler weather, vacation season is over kids back to school. It's a transitional time that can require a mental and physical shift. Though it occurs every year, you might still be able to use a little help to turn that seasonal corner. Beyond just a change of schedule and a change of clothes, the start of fall could be a good time to see a chiropractor.

Effects of Seasonal Changes

For students heading back to school, the carefree hours are over. Getting up early and hauling around a heavy backpack are the order of the day. Many places of business pick up when summer ends, meaning harder and possibly longer days. There is less daylight which can affect the sleep cycle. These are all things that chiropractic care may be able to help with. Adjustments to the spine, neck, and joints to fix subluxations and other issues can help relieve pain and keep the body up to the rigors of a busier schedule. Some people find that they sleep better after becoming chiropractic patients. Few things are as beneficial to good health as quality sleep.

Seasonal Illness

As the weather cools and people spend more time indoors, more microbes are passed around. Flu season is on the horizon and the chances of getting sick increase. Eating well, frequent handwashing, and using sanitizer are the best things you can do to avoid getting sick. But there is evidence that some chiropractic patients may experience a boost in their immune systems. This can be very helpful in fighting the microbes that bring illness. When fighting sickness, you need all the help you can get.

Mental Stress

Changes in the activities of everyday living can cause anxiety. Less sunlight can also affect your mental state and some people get depressed as summer ends. I know I do. While a chiropractor can't change the seasons and won't replace a therapist, there are patients who find that chiropractic care makes anxiety and stress easier to manage. You are not truly healthy unless your mental state is as good as your physical.

The change from summer to fall can be a dramatic one that is tough on mind and body. It's a good time to consider a visit to The Joint Chiropractic. No appointment is needed. You may find that seeing a chiropractor gives you that extra boost to charge into fall ready to conquer everything.
