Your Style Can be the Cause of Your Back Pain
By Virginia Laird
Back pain may seem to be a common problem among people in many communities. Many struggle to determine the cause behind the pain. However, chiropractors suggest the cause of such pain may be more common than most are aware. A few of the leading causes of back pain are related to fashion, as considered by chiropractors, include:
- Wearing high heels can cause back pain
- Carrying a heavy purse can be painful
- Tight clothes can be the culprit of back pain
Wearing High Heels Can Cause Back Pain
If you are struggling with back pain but can’t quite pinpoint the cause, take a look at your feet. Are you wearing high heels often? This can be the cause of your suffering. Chiropractors recommend, if you must wear heels to wear shorter heels. Another thing suggested is to wear heels only once or twice a week. This can allow your feet (and back) to relax the rest of the week.
Carrying a Heavy Purse Can be Painful
Large purses may be all the rave, but they can also cause all the back pain. Chiropractors suggest it is best to carry small purses. The size of the purse prevents you from stuffing it full of too many things, which can make it heavy. At any given point, my purse may weight upwards of 10 pounds. Although this may not seem like a ton, when it is carried on the shoulder, it can tug at the spine. This can lead to spinal restriction and pain.
Tight Clothes Can be the Culprit of Back Pain
While you may not be aware of the issues which can accompany wearing super tight clothes, there are many. One certain problem is back pain. Although it may sound silly, there is truth in the theory. Chiropractors suggest that clothing which is worn too tight can be problematic to the spine. When clothing is too tight it can hamper the body’s natural movement, which can increase the chances of spinal restriction. This can be painful.
