Workouts for Two
By Donna Stark
Planning on staying at home a lot more in the foreseeable future? Then you might need some fresh ideas on how to stay physically active! And if you have a significant other hanging around the house, you may as well get them moving too! Staying in shape with a partner is a great way to remain accountable and it also takes some of the boredom out of your fitness routine, but the best part about working out with your significant other is that it is always more fun when you are doing it with those you love!
Working Out With Your Loved One
There are plenty of ways to improve your health and fitness through physical activity, but when you have to plan a workout for two and you can't get to the gym, you may need to try some new ideas. That's why we are offering the following suggestions. Take a look and then get ready for some of the most fun workouts you have had in a long time!
Cycling
With the warm sun on your back and the cool breeze in your face, cycling tops the list of workouts that are both fun and easy on the joints. And when you go for a spin with your significant other, it can be even more fun than you imagined! Take the afternoon to explore new areas, add some friendly competition by sprinkling in a race or two, or take it easy and catch up on some much-needed conversation. Spending time on two wheels has never been more joyful!
Dancing
Dancing with your loved one is always fun and now is the time to learn some new moves! Pull up some instructional videos online and grab your partner for some quick lessons on how to do the foxtrot, the waltz, or the merengue. Dancing is a great way to elevate your heart rate and increase your core strength, but be ready, it's more of a workout than you think!
Hiking
Avoiding the crowds is a good thing to do right now, so grab your partner and your hiking shoes and head outdoors! Disappear into nature for a bit and hike to your heart's content but be sure to take all safety precautions first and pack plenty of water. Hiking is a great workout because you can choose the level of difficulty and length of time you want.
Partner Up and Have Fun
There is nothing better than improving your overall health and wellness with the people you love the most. So grab your partner, or grab the entire family, and get moving! I bet you won't even miss being in the gym at all!
