By Donna Stark
Every year in May, you can throw your diet out the window and eat whatever it is that your little heart desires! It's National Eat What You Want Day and during this day, there are no judgments, no restrictions, and definitely no unbearable cravings. You can give in to that sweet tooth and you can load up on those carbs because on this day, no one can tell you what not to eat.
Indulge for a Day
Now, of course, you don't want to make yourself or your loved ones sick over what you decide to eat. Enjoying the freedom of this day will have a lot to do with moderation, don't you think? So don't cannonball into a pool of food. Wise choices will go a long way with making this day special and fun for all. And if you are looking for some fun ideas, check out the ones below.
- Make breakfast for dinner - Ending the day the same way it began by having breakfast for dinner is a fun treat for many people. You will love how easy it is to put together and your kids will love everything else about it, so pull out the griddle and grab the bacon, eggs, and pancake mix. And if you really want to make it fun, don your pajamas before you sit down to eat!
- Try something new - There is no better reason to try a new spot to eat at than the celebration of National Eat What You Want Day! Have you been eyeing that new cookie shop that opened up down the road but your diet forbids you from stepping foot in it? Have your kids been wanting to try the new pizza joint next to their school? Today's the day to give in!
- Let your kids choose - You plan, you shop, you prep, and you cook. We get it. You are in charge of what everyone eats in the house, but isn't it nice to have a break? So why don't you give yourself a day off and let your kids come up with the menu? It creates an opportunity to let them be in charge for once and who knows? You may even approve of their choices!
Adding Some Fun to Your Normal Routine

So go ahead and enjoy that little slice of indulgence!
