Meet The Doctors

Dr. Matt Myschisin II, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Apex

Matt Myschisin II D.C. is a Chiropractic physician in Apex, North Carolina. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biology at Allegheny College in 2012 and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus in December 2015.

Dr. Matt employs many different adjusting techniques based on individual needs which include the Palmer Package, Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, and Instrument Adjusting.

Dr. Matt’s first experience with chiropractic was in high school through friends and family who had regularly seen Chiropractors. After seeing them get better without having to take medication he decided to also go and see one. After his first adjustment he had the stiffness that he had been experiencing from football and hockey disappear almost overnight. From then on he wanted to be the one to do that for other people.

In his free time Dr. Matt enjoys reading at home or catching up on the latest recommendations of shows from his friends. He also participates in Krav Maga and is getting ready to test for his 2nd advanced placement test.

Dr. Aqeila Shepherd, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Apex

Dr. Shepherd graduated from Garner Magnet High School, attended East Carolina University, transferred to North Carolina Central University her junior year to become involved in numerous research projects in the Research Triangle Park area (project focuses: ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, fetal alcohol syndrome, bacteriophage efficacy in destroying bacterial cells as a substitute to antibiotic medications, and metabolic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension), where she also earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2013. After her completing her undergraduate studies Dr. Shepherd completed the highly competitive Medical Education Development program at UNC Chapel Hill in 2014 before entering her doctorate training in Florida.

Dr. Shepherd chose chiropractic as a medical specialty because she enjoys the personalized patient contact experience that she’s able to achieve as a chiropractic physician.  Dr. Shepherd places high importance and emphasis on educating patients on living healthy lifestyles and the importance of chiropractic care in the function of their nervous system beyond neck and back pain.  Utilizing a wide variety of techniques, Dr. Shepherd is committed to delivering high quality patient care.

When Dr. Shepherd isn’t caring for patients she enjoys spending quality time with her teacup Yorkies Lady and Macy, traveling, reading, and hosting women’s empowerment events.  “I am excited to serve my patients in my home state, and I thank you for allowing me to care for you.”

Dr. Mark Saletnik, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Apex

My Name is Dr. Mark Saletnik. I am a licensed chiropractor who has been in practice about 15 years here in the great state of North Carolina . Originally I am from Massachusetts but consider North Carolina my home now.

I knew chiropractic was the career path i wanted to take when many many years ago my girlfriend hurt her back pretty significantly and modern medicine did not give her any long lasting significant relief. It was her visits to a chiropractor, visits that I attended, that took care of her low back pain. I was hooked.

I graduated from life University in Georgia where my desire for the field really took off being educated by very bright instructors and took classes with fellow students that were as excited as I was to deliver this care to the public.

Throughout the 15 years I have blessed to treat many types of spinal injuries stemming from acute care from car accidents, slips and falls to overall wellness and maintenance. Over the years I have learned several techniques geared to the specific need.

I am married to a beautiful woman named Samatha and we have a cute little dog named Tanzi. On my down time I like to paint, draw , and create glass pieces. I also like to cook.
