Meet The Doctors

Dr. Sonya Dennis, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Mallard Creek

Dr. Sonya grew up in central Pennsylvania and earned a degree in business, Marketing and Economics. After working in her field for a few years, she felt called to help others. She had a few health challenges that weren't ever really fixed by surgeries and prescriptions. She knew there had to be a better answer. Soon she discovered the power of the body to heal itself if it was given the chance. It was then she knew she wanted to help others reach their full potential by making truly informed decisions about their health. A late-night web search led her on a trail that ended with chiropractic. After completing her science prerequisites she packed up her life to move halfway across the country to attend Parker University in Dallas, TX, and obtain her Doctorate in Chiropractic.

Dr. Sonya is a lifelong learner. Throughout her time pursuing her degree as well as after graduating as a Chiropractor, she attended additional trainings and seminars. She maintains her Webster Certification, a technique focused on pregnancy care, with ICPA and is working toward completing an additional Chiropractic 200-hour Certification. She's also studied multiple adjusting techniques which gives her a unique toolbox to help her patients based on their needs and preferences.

When Dr. Sonya is not serving she likes spending time with her dear children. She enjoys making arts and crafts, going for walks in nature, and having a good cup of tea with a friend.

Dr. Michael Jones, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Mallard Creek

Dr. Jones has recently moved to the East Coast. Prior to coming to North Carolina, he had been practicing in California’s Bay Area since 2005. He graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in 2004. He and his wife, Carla, have two wonderful boys that keep them very active. His free time is consumed by racing BMX, mountain biking and playing chess with his boys. He loves taking family trips and making memories. He is enjoying being on the East coast, meeting all the wonderful people and discovering new things. His commitment as a chiropractor is that his patients experience their highest quality of life.

Here are a few words from the Doctor:

I became a chiropractor to help people. I am amazed at the body’s ability to heal when it has what it needs. Without mobility your body doesn’t function as well as it can. The ability to help people have a better life and to be able to do whatever they want is the main reason I love being a chiropractor. I have seen the difference it makes for so many people at all stages of life, from new born to the elderly. I am grateful for the gift I’ve been given to make a difference in so many people’s lives.

Dr. Michael Jones, DC is:

• Certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners

• Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners

• National Board Certified in Radiographic Diagnostic Imaging

• National Board Certified in Physiological Therapeutics

Dr. Corey has his bachelors in Exercise Science from BYU-Idaho and he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences. While working on his doctorate he also got his masters in Chinese Acupuncture. Dr. Brown likes to use both eastern and western medicine in his medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatments.

Dr. Corey has a wife and 2 kids ages 4 and 6. He is originally from Mooresville NC and enjoys lifting weights and Hung Gar Kung Fu when not spending time with his family.

Dr. Alejandra Suarez, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Mallard Creek

A Florida native, Alejandra grew up in Fort Lauderdale. After graduating from high school, she went on to the University of Central Florida where she met her husband and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science. She then went on to chiropractic school and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Parker University with a Doctorate of Chiropractic.

It wasn’t until Chiropractic school that Alejandra truly found the healing potential that Chiropractic has to offer. As Alejandra went through school getting regularly adjusted, she noticed that although feeling great in her physical body, she felt more space to breathe and simply be herself. This is when her perspective of what chiropractic is and what it can provide changed forever. Understanding that with a nervous-system based approach chiropractic not only provides physical relief but also improves mental and emotional health as well. She has made it her mission to share this message and help as many people as she can through facilitating the healing powers of chiropractic.

Dr. Michael Stephens, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Mallard Creek

Dr. Stephens brings 14 years of diverse clinical experience, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and delivering exceptional outcomes. Growing up in his father's chiropractic office, he developed a profound appreciation for the health benefits of consistent chiropractic care. He witnessed the positive impact of natural and holistic approaches on not only his father's patients' well-being, but also on his own. The clinic became a second home, where discussions about spinal health and the body's innate ability to heal were part of daily life. This upbringing fueled his genuine love for the transformative effects of regular chiropractic care.

Dr. Stephens is known for his evidence-based diagnostic skills and practical approach to chiropractic care. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida and earned his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida. He is actively pursuing board-certification as a chiropractic neuromusculoskeletal medicine specialist.

His special interests encompass a wide range of areas, including chronic pain syndromes, neck and shoulder pain, headaches and migraines, balance disorders such as dizziness and vertigo, sciatica, and fall prevention. Dr. Stephens' passion for addressing complex pain issues stems from personal experience; witnessing his wife struggle with neck pain and migraines following an accident in 2012 fueled his commitment to improving the management of chronic pain conditions.

Dr. Stephens loves imparting his knowledge to his three daughters. Recently, one of his daughters encountered severe anxiety following a head trauma. The transformative impact of chiropractic care in her recovery was profound. This personal experience serves as a powerful reminder of the impact chiropractic care can have on mental and emotional well-being, further fueling his passion for promoting holistic health practices within his family and the broader community.

He loves helping people of all ages achieve optimal health. Dr. Cornejo is national board certified in Physiotherapy, certified in the Thompson Technique, and uses a variety of techniques based on the patients’ specific needs.

When Dr. Andrew is not serving the community, he enjoys working out, traveling, trying new restaurants, hiking, and cheering on the NY Mets and Clemson Tigers.

Dr. Watson is from Williamstown, West Virginia where he was a three-sport athlete in football, baseball, and basketball. After high school, he attended West Virginia University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. After completing his academics at WVU, he moved to Port Orange, Florida where he attended Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus.
