3 Fashion Tips to Help Your back
By Virginia Laird
Many believe that looking gorgeous has everything to do with keeping up with the most fashionable and trendy styles. When designers set out to make their new threads, little to no thought is given to how one can actually wear the style long-term. Although the latest trends may look desirable, a great deal of these can cause back pain. It is possible to be stylish without killing your back. Altering the fads just a bit can keep you stylish and pain-free. A few things even your chiropractor would recommend may include:
- Wearing smaller heels
- Carrying smaller and lighter purses
- Loosening your clothes
Go for Smaller Heels
High heels may seem appealing but there is such a thing as too tall. The shorter the heel the better for your back. High heels can put stress on the spine. Heels can cause one to adjust the weight distribution of the body as well as the stride while walking. Any time these two elements are disrupted it can require the spine to shift, causing back pain. Many chiropractors suggest to keep heels lower than two inches. This height will not eliminate back pain but can significantly decrease the odds of severe problems.
Use Smaller Purses and Bags
Purses and bags and totes ... oh my! Unknowingly, women (especially) put strain on their back. Purses (in general) can put strain on the body. Additionally, there is typically far too much junk in the purse. Don’t get me wrong, I generally believe I need everything in my purse. However, the fact is my purse most likely weighs 15 pounds currently. That is a lot of weight added to the body. Your chiropractor will encourage you to go smaller and lighter. Choosing to carry the ever so stylish large tote encourages one to carry more. Give your back a break. Lighten your load by choosing an equally stylish but smaller bag.
Wear Clothes that Aren’t Too Tight
Wearing clothes that are too tight can cause back pain. Sounds a bit absurd but it is true. Any clothing that restricts the body’s ability to move comfortably can issue problems for the body. It is important to remember you can still be trendy and opt for the slightly more loose clothing. When visiting with your chiropractor concerning fashion choices, he or she will advise against super tight fashions as well. Keep in mind that any fashion pieces that constrict movement can wreak havoc on your body.
