Walking Barefoot May Boost Health
By Tom Herrin
When I was young, my mother insisted that we wear shoes just about all of the time. Whether this was just some kind of thing she had or what, I never knew. She seemed to feel that it was a bad habit for us to go around without our shoes on. This has not always been the case for many. I have always enjoyed the feel of grass when walking on my bare feet. I did not know then that walking around this way may actually have some values to my health. According to several studies, it may do much more.
The World Is Wired
Even though we may not realize it, our world, and everything around it, is pretty much electrified. At least, in the sense that we have positive and negative charges, these play a large role in our health. Charged particles can have a significant impact on our overall health. Walking barefoot can ground us, so to speak, in more ways than one. It may help to absorb negative electrons from the earth. Keeping our bodies in balance in terms of electrical charge can be a big thing.
It May Help the Heart
Particularly as we age, many of us tend to have a thickening of the blood. It is very real and can contribute to the risks of things such as stroke. The reason is often that we have clumping in our blood. It can become very serious and cause issues such as stroke or major heart issues. It is believed that walking barefoot can increase the surface charge of red blood cells which may help prevent this clumping from happening.
Back to Nature Can Be Best
Walking barefoot is considered a large part of what it referred to as earthing, and it can serve many purposes. We have probably all had the experience of getting in the outdoors and feeling really good. Some of this may be due to these things that we are really unaware of. Getting in touch with nature may involve much more than simply enjoying the view. Walking barefoot may help us to experience a significant change in our lives. Besides getting our charges in order ad supporting our hearts, it may do some things such as change the chemical makeup within us that can cause stress. As we have lots more nice days, it may be worth pulling off your shoes and wiggling your toes a bit.
