Meet The Doctors

Dr. Amanda Boda, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Mint Hill

My chiropractor changed my life!

Growing up my asthma and allergies were pretty bad. On my best days I would only take my albuterol inhaler when I was playing outside or taking gym class. On my worst days however I would find myself taking my inhaler up to 30 times a day just to be able to breath from one moment to the next. I would suffer the side effects of that medication as well and feel like I had just consumed 15 cups of coffee and noticeably shake. I eventually found myself on 3 different types of inhalers (one to prevent attacks, one to counteract the side effects of preventative and one just in case those failed) and oral allergy medication. When I was 19 years old and home from college for summer break, my aunt introduced me to her chiropractor. I had my spine and health evaluated and then I started under care and getting adjusted. I was on an intense schedule at the beginning as my spine needed a lot of work and my body needed time to heal. After 3 months I returned to college and continued seeing a chiropractor while in school regularly. Over the course of the next year my body continued to heal and I was able to wean myself off of all my medications. I have never looked back since.

My chiropractic journey:

That was my introduction to chiropractic and I knew then what I wanted to do with my life. After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University in 2000, I went on to chiropractic school at Life University in Atlanta and then transferred to Sherman College in Spartanburg, SC to finish up my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2005. I choose both of these schools because of their strong subluxation-based philosophy. They teach that the body is made up of amazing systems that all work together and these systems are all controlled and coordinated by our nervous system. When our nervous system is free of interference called subluxations (misalignments in the spine that put pressure on the nerve) the body will function and heal to the best of its ability.

In practice, I use several different chiropractic techniques that allow me the tools to tailor a chiropractic care plan just for you. I love seeing adults and children alike and have had the honor of adjusting newborns who were just days old up to 98 year old seniors. I am certified in the Webster Technique which gives me the opportunity to also work with pregnant women. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenges.

On a personal note:

I have a wonderful husband named Bill and we have 2 smart and spunky kids, Will and Layne. I am also mama to my 14 year old lab/chow mix Jack—who is very sleepy and loves to sun himself on his pillow. When I’m not in the office I love to read, cook, play board games, travel and go walking. I feel most at peace in the mountains of NC and look forward to having a home there one day.
