Meet The Doctors

Dr. Emelia Bracken, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Mayfield Heights

Dr. Emelia Bracken was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. She is a Canton Central Catholic High School graduate, she completed her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science at John Carroll University in University Heights in 2013. After obtaining her undergraduate degree Dr. Emelia moved out west and started chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. While in school she was involved in many clubs and activities, including Student Government as her Class President, Sport Council, and the Student American Chiropractic Association. Dr. Emelia currently resides in Canton and commutes to the Cleveland area to work at our Mayfield Heights office. She is very passionate about educating the community on the importance of movement as medicine, as well as wellness Chiropractic care for maintaining optimal health. She is a personal witness to the benefits of chiropractic both in her own life, and in her family. In her free- time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and chatting about any health- related topic.

Dr. Emelia is excited about joining The Joint Chiropractic, and the opportunity to serve her local community. She strives to be on the forefront of chiropractic by offering both affordable and routine chiropractic care.

Dr. Peter Phillips, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Mayfield Heights

Dr Peter Phillips is a native of upstate New York. He grew up in the village of Sackets Harbor. He attended Sackets Harbor H.S. and graduated in 1982. He spent the next 2 years at JCC acquiring a AS degree. He transferred to SUNY at Binghamton to complete the premed requirements necessary to enroll in Palmer College of Chiropractic. He graduated in 1987 with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

In 1988 Dr. Phillips began working as an associate doctor in Phillips Chiropractic Clinic, He became a partner in 1991. Dr Phillips was listed as an outstanding young man of America in 1987-90. Dr Phillips was named the Clark County Chiropractic Society’s Chiropractor of the year 1990-1992. He was president of the CCCA from 1991-1995. Dr. Phillips was the local Liaison for the WSCA from 1995-1997. Dr Phillips was a founding member (1989) and is a current member of the Association of Vancouver Business Professionals. Dr. Phillips was in the Kiwanis from 1990-1995. He served his church community as chair of the finance council from 1990-2011. Dr. Phillips started Dr. Peter Phillips PS in 2001. He has been the owner operator until he sold it in 2019. Dr Phillips has been a chiropractic “coach” for doctors looking to grow their practices from 2006-present. He has been a national trainer for the ProAdjuster company from 2006-2014, and has been a trainer for the administration of class 4 laser therapy 2013-2019.

Dr Phillips has been through numerous continuing education classes and programs on topics such as Chiropractic adjustive technique. 120 hour radiology program. 120 hour physiotherapy program. Patient suicide prevention. Patient life saving measures. Chiropractic philosophy. Nutrition. Weight loss. Life prolonging measures. Orthopedics. Kinesiotaping. Care of the aging patient. Laser therapy. Decompression therapy. Motor vehicle trauma. Accident reconstruction.

Dr. Phillips moved to Ohio in 2019 and is so excited to be here serving this community.

Dr. David Crawford, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Mayfield Heights

Dr. David Crawford was born and raised in Northern California’s Bay Area. He attended Sonoma State University, where he earned his BA in General Biology, before moving to sunny Southern California where he received extensive massage therapy training (1350 hours) and earned his Neuromuscular Massage Therapist and Health Educator certification from the National Holistic Institute. It was there that David discovered chiropractic and learned just how beneficial combining soft tissue therapies, like massage, and chiropractic could be. In January of 2017, David began his chiropractic training at the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic in Bridgeport, CT. He graduated in December of 2020 having not only been the class president, but also earning the Richard E. Vincent Leadership Award, an award demonstrating outstanding leadership among his peers.

As a longtime competitive athlete and as a CrossFit trainer, David understands the differences tailored chiropractic care can make in terms of athletic performance and recovery. With a focus on fostering functional movement in all areas of life, not just those in the gym or on the playing field, Dr. David works to make sure that his patients leave the office feeling better and more empowered than when they came in, and strives to help his patients live and move pain-free whenever possible.
