Try These Foods for Combating Seasonal Allergies

Food allergies are becoming more and more common in our modern world. Usually, the association between food and allergies involves the connection with adverse reactions. However, what about foods that combat allergies? Could there be such a thing? If you've got seasonal allergies in the spring, you may try incorporating some of these foods into your diet, which may help reduce your symptoms!
Ginger is an excellent allergy fighter, especially since allergies often bring about inflammation. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory food and also can help combat other symptoms, such as swelling and irritation in the nasal passages, nose, eyes, and throat. Ginger tea with honey is an amazing allergy remedy. Other ways to consume ginger include juicing or adding it to your stir-fries or soups.
Allergies can be a bit hard on the liver, as the liver has to work extra hard to process everything the body is reacting to. Carrot juice detoxifies the liver, as well as the blood and intestinal tract. This will help to rejuvenate the system and assist the liver in doing its job well. Carrot juice also pairs great with ginger!
Cucumber juice purges the blood and kidneys of acids and other toxins, helping to rid the body of the substances it's reacting to. It also balances PH levels and can be super hydrating. If you don't have a juicer, try adding cucumbers to your water. The mixture won't be as potent, but you will receive some of the benefits.
Onions contain the powerful ingredient, quercetin, which is a bioflavonoid that acts as a natural antihistamine. Onions also have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Cooking onions reduces the amount of quercetin, so you might want to think about eating them raw. Just think about freshening your breath afterward!
Wheat Germ Oil
Wheat germ oil is rich in inositol, which improves fat metabolism. This prevents the accumulation of toxic wastes, improves oxygen absorption in the blood, and facilitates toxin-free metabolism. Mainly sold as a supplement, add this to your smoothies or fresh juices.
Foods to Avoid During Allergy Season
There are certain foods that may exacerbate your seasonal allergies and are to be avoided for getting maximum benefits from the above list. These foods include refined starch and sugar, milk, eggs, overcooked meats, hydrogenated fats, chemical additives, and preservatives. Try using natural sugars during this time, such as honey and dates. Buy or make your own nut or coconut milk, and stick to good fats, such as avocado and olive oil.
