Improving Neck Pain Through Chiropractic

The neck is often a common source of pain, especially for those who deal with daily stress. He or she may ask when the pain started, what types of attempts have been made to alleviate pain, such as stretching or medications, and whether or not the pain radiates to other parts of the body. The physical assessment could include a range of tests and checks. The doctor may feel the spine to detect the curvatures or see if there are muscle spasms present. He or she may also note posture, check the shoulder area, and test reflexes and muscle strength.

Also known as cervical manipulation, the doctor can perform a neck adjustment by using their hand to apply pressure. It helps to increase movement of all adjoining muscles and reduce the pain and stiffness felt in the neck and shoulder region. Patients should be able to turn their head more than before and experience far less soreness when doing so.
