Just Eliminate the Bad Carbs, Not All of Them

By Tom Herrin

When people see what is up with the latest trend in diets, they may well notice that cutting carbs is at or near the top of the list.  While it may sound simple, there is more to it than just cutting them in general.  Cutting those that are not so good is more likely the key to enjoying the best health possible.  Before they make that blanket decision to simply cut, it is best to have an idea what they need to cut and what they need to leave.  It is a little like whittling.  They may all start out with the same thing, but after cutting away what they don't need, they end up with a product that brings more pleasure and satisfaction.

Limit These Carbs

When it comes to picking and choosing, doing so with carbs can pay off in the way of better health.  Choosing to limit those carbs that can cause some health issues can be a great way to boost overall health.  There is an ample supply of bad carbs available.  Those from sugars are abundant.  Walking into any convenience store and trying to pick up something to provide a little snack to get them to the next meal can cost a lot of carbs.  Most of these package foods are full of sugars.  It has been suggested that people should limit their intake.  For women, the recommendation is 100 calories per day from these sugars while for men, it is 150.  Following this suggestion can help.

Seek These Carbs

Looking for good carbs is not that hard, it just may not come in a package.  Fruits, vegetables, and good grains can all provide the kinds people need to fuel their bodies.  Taking in the proper amount of these can make the right kind of energy available to keep muscles working well.  It is critical to keep the body from depleting muscles by using them for energy.  That is never desirable and is counterproductive for those trying to manage weight.

Raise Personal Awareness

Trying to keep up with what our bodies need is not that difficult.  We just need to be aware.  We all must stay on top of our game.  Too many trends can influence us to make bad decisions without the proper amount of information.  I do all I can to be informed.  It can mean better health and better ability to perform.
