So many items we use daily are detrimental to our well-being. We may not even realize it at the time, but many of the everyday items we utilize are causing discomfort or worse. With some recommendations from the chiropractor, you can make some easy switches that will help your health in a big way.
Switch Out Your Office Chair
If you've been sitting in a chair that offers no back support, it's time for a switch. You should have an adjustable seat that can be changed to fit your height. It should have extra support in the lumbar region to keep back pain at bay.
Switch Out Your Purse
A heavy purse packed with all your items will only weigh you down. It also causes uneven weight distribution -- only weighing down one side in particular. This can throw off your posture and lead to more pain in the long run. You should utilize a backpack instead. It provides two straps that can go over both shoulders. You'll have an even weight distribution of the items inside so you're less likely to experience pain.
Switch the Way You Hold Your Phone
Never look down at your device. If this is how you often hold your phone, you need to make a change. You should be holding it out at eye level instead. Better yet, opt for a hands-free approach. You don't want to experience shoulder or arm pain because you're holding your phone out in front of you for long intervals. Get a phone holder that can sit separately, or use the ones that sit around your neck and extend in front of your face.
Switch Your Mattress
Has it been eight years yet since you've bought your mattress? If so, it's time for a change. You need to switch out your mattress every eight years at the very least. If you notice a lumpy spot, poor sleep no matter what you try, or find your bed sagging, then it's time for a new one even if the timeframe hasn't been reached. Wear and tear on the mattress can make it unusable.
The everyday items you use can make or break your health and cause you discomfort if you aren't careful. With some recommended switches from the chiropractor, you can make the necessary changes to better your well-being. No more pain is necessary to deal with when you're using the items you should, in proper ways.
