Dr. Ed Fisher, born in Stockton, California, attended Arizona State University on an athletic scholarship where he played football for the Sun Devils as well as coaching the freshman football team. Upon his graduation in 1972, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Education, Dr. Fisher played ten years with the Houston Oilers professional football team, was a member of the every yard Earl Campbell achieved. Dr. Fisher first became involved with Chiropractic study during the football off seasons and, in 1987, graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles.
Upon successful completion of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Part One, in 1988, and the Arizona State Licensure and Physical Therapy and Traction License, Dr. Fisher entered the practice of Chiropractic. Dr. Fisher has worked with teams consisting of multi-specialty doctors including family physicians, physical therapists, pain management physicians, and message therapists. Dr. Fisher has a strong background in athletics and sports injuries.
Dr. Fisher has also successfully completed the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Part Two, in 1990, and the Special Purposes Examination for Chiropractic and the Texas Board of Chiropractic Exam in 2014. He also holds Chiropractic Licenses in Arizona and Colorado. Dr. Fisher is continually updating his knowledge and expertise in Chiropractic care by attending educational seminars related to the various aspects of Chiropractic care.
Jacob Ballard was born and raised in Bridge City, Texas. His father has been practicing chiropractic for twenty-four years. His undergraduate education took place at Lamar University as well as the University of Houston studying biology. Dr. Ballard’s graduate studies took place at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, TX.
“I was born when my father was in his second trimester at TCC. I received my first adjustment when I was only two months old. Other than visits to the dentist, I have never received care from any other doctor besides a chiropractor.”
Dr. Ballard joined The Joint in Houston in September 2018 after graduating from TCC and recently joined us in Austin at the beginning of August.
In his spare time Dr. Ballard truly enjoys music, movies, reading, and exercising. He also has an Australian Shepherd named Kurt Cobain that he enjoys spending time with.
Dr. Stephanie Venner began working for The Joint August of 2019. She likes to work with pregnancy and pediatric patients because they always light up the room when they come in to the clinic. Dr. Venner attended Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa where she received her Bachelors of Arts in Biology in 2014. This lead her to Pasadena, Texas where she attended Texas Chiropractic College and graduated Salutatorian of her class December of 2018. Dr. Venner was the student recipient of the Keeler Award for dedication and perseverance to the profession of Chiropractic as well during this time. According to Dr. Venner, she has always known that she wanted to be a Chiropractor “I have been going to the Chiropractor since the day I was born, and it has always made a huge impact on my life growing up and being involved in sports. I know how much it helped me, and I want to be able to do that for others.”
The best thing about being in the Chiropractic profession is being able to treat the cause of the problem, not just cover up the symptoms. As well as seeing how happy patient become after getting adjusted! In Dr. Venner’s spare time she likes to go hiking and be outdoors with her fiancé, Daniel, and their two dogs; Oakley and Jasper. She is also an avid reader and says her favorite books would have to be the Harry Potter Series. Guests at her perfect dinner party would consist of Ellen DeGeneres and Dumbledore!
