Chiropractic Gets A’s in Patient Satisfaction
Chiropractic Gets Approval
In reports, such as one from the American Journal of Public Health, chiropractic patients were found to be more satisfied with their back care providers after four weeks of treatment than were the medical patients.
Observational studies suggested back patients are more satisfied with chiropractic care. The chiropractic care also surpassed reports from physical therapy patients after six weeks.
Great Track Record
The Annals of Internal Medicine concludes, “Chiropractic is the largest, most regulated, and best recognized of the complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) professions. CAM patient surveys show chiropractors are used more frequently than any other alternative provider group and patient satisfaction with chiropractic care is very high. Chiropractic use has tripled in the U.S. in the past twenty years.”
Seeing the Chiropractor
Based on these reports we can assume a lot of people recommend their chiropractors to friends and neighbors. If you have a new pain issue or just want to find out what all of these reports are about, seeing a chiropractor will give you a hands on experience so you can judge for yourself.
How the Chiropractor May Help You
The chiropractor’s goal is to help you maintain your activities and health without medications or surgery. The first visit includes a spinal manipulation to evaluate spinal health, followed by a discussion of medical history and daily activities.
If you are having pain issues you might want to consider regular visits. While you are there the chiropractor can also spot other areas you might need to work on, such as good posture habits, retooling your workstation to make it work for you, and relaxation and stress release options in yoga or Tai Chi classes. Weight loss and a healthier diet can also come into play to supply all of the needed energy.
Wherever you are in life, a little extra help never hurts. Some time ago I watched a friend of mine upgrade her health as she started chiropractic visits. She was always in the lead when it came to good ideas, and one of her best ideas was to use the chiropractor to keep tweaking her body as she worked, exercised and played. Her weekends were always filled with trips, hikes, Sunday sails and little getaways. Sometimes she would come back tired and happy, but with a few twinges that needed attention. Instead of slowing down and just waiting out the pain, she visited her chiropractor.
If you have a busy job and a busy life, you might consider my friend’s approach to maintenance along with all of the satisfied patient reports and make an appointment today.
