Meet The Doctors

Dr. Lisa Barry, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Parmer

Dr. Barry started working at Joint locations in Austin, TX in July of 2017. Prior to working here she had worked for a year in Asheville, NC. Currently you can find Dr. Barry working out of the clinic of Parmer and Mopac.

Dr. Barry graduated in December 2011 from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO earning a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Med Biology and a minor in chemistry. She then attended Texas Chiropractic College in January 2012 and earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in April 2015.

Dr. Barry decided to become a chiropractor after her first experience getting adjusted when she was 19 while volunteering at a free health clinic in Joplin. She didn't realize she was having any issues but she had her neck adjusted and felt a huge release of pressure in her head and slept better than she had in years. After that experience Dr. Barry new she wanted to provide this kind of experience to as many other people as possible. Aside from helping people Dr. Barry has been a long-time animal lover and is planning on also pursuing becoming certified in animal chiropractic as well.

Dr. Barry worked in Asheville, NC at another Joint location for a year and adjusted roughly 10,000 people. After working at The Joint Dr. Barry moved to St Thomas, VI to work out of a private practice.

Outside of work Dr. Barry loves riding and training horses. Dr. Barry spent 10 years training and competing in barrel racing. Currently she does not compete. She lives with her cat, a tortoise shell calico, named Boo. She has 2 horses that are in MO with her parents, Ginger and Jelly Bean. Her dog, Sid, is also with her parents but she hopes to soon have him in Austin with her and Boo. Dr. Barry also loves to read, do many DIY projects and spend time with her family.

"When I experienced my first adjustment I really didn't think there was anything wrong as I feel most people do. I was only 19 what could I have possibly done to mess myself up? But when I felt that extreme relief of pressure from my head it was really astounding! It opened my eyes to what was possible and how the manipulation of the skeletal structure of the body could be so significant in allowing all parts of the body to communicate and function at a more optimum level.”

“I feel that working at The Joint really allows me to help patients to my full capacity while also keeping it affordable. It really allows patients to be able to comply with a treatment plan without breaking the bank. Patients are able to get care that is going to help them progress and keep them in the most optimum alignment possible.”

“The coolest thing I've ever done is win my first saddle! It was a great experience and I had always wanted to win a saddle and when it finally happened I was just completely beside myself. I have had that saddle since 2003! It is one of my favorite saddles!”

Dr. Marc Richardson, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Parmer

Dr. Marc Richardson has been freeing people from pain in the Austin area since 2004. As a Chiropractor with experience, Dr. Richardson has been committed to promoting the health and well being of his patients since graduating from the Texas Chiropractic College in 2001. He is also a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Gulf War. He was stationed on the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier. Upon detachment from active enlistment of the Navy, Dr. Richardson obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Biology and a degree for Doctor of Chiropractic. He then became an associate doctor and treated injured workers and automobile accident victims. From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Richardson accomplished a year of post-graduate studies in sports injury, nutrition and rehabilitation. He also has obtained many post-graduate hours of specialized training in personal injury, auto accident treatment, x-ray interpretation, holistic approaches to patient care, and biomechanical effects of the sports injury. If you want some tips or information on exercise or working out, Dr. Richardson is an excellent resource due to his vast experience and education on the subject.

Dr. Richardson enjoys spending time with his wife MJ and seven children and now expecting baby number eight in February. The busiest time of the year for him and his family is football season as we have three children playing in the youth league and Leander High School.

Dr. Richardson uses a whole person approach to treating each patient. This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this unique approach, Dr. Richardson is able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.
