Why the Conservative Care Approach Leads the Way

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) encourages all consumers to think “Conservative Care First!” when it comes to their health care, particularly when pain is the issue.

Then they go on to tell us why choosing conservative care over more complex or riskier treatments is really a crucial health issue.

What Is At Stake

In our culture pain killer prescription addiction has reached major proportions, prompting more and more patients to seek a conservative, non-drug chiropractic approach.

Also, chiropractic often becomes the first choice over surgery. For example, a recent study based on Washington state workers found that only 1.5 percent of those who visited a chiropractor first for work-related back pain later had surgery, compared to 42.7 percent of those who saw a surgeon first.

Conservative care offers safe and effective (as well as cost-effective) ways to reduce pain and muscle spasms. A 2012 study found that spinal manipulation for neck and back pain was cost-effective used either alone or combined with other therapies.

ACS concludes their view saying,

“You and your body will be together for the rest of your life. That’s reason enough to seek out conservative care first.”

Seeing the Chiropractor

Chiropractors believe wellness and routine chiropractic care should be as basic for us as healthy diets and daily exercise. They will help you pursue wellness without using medications or surgery.

They offer the purest form of chiropractic care, providing full spinal adjustments using the diversified technique to check for subluxations, which are misalignments of the spine.

Subluxations are misalignments of one or more vertebrae in the spine and/or joints. When the misalignment is corrected it may have far reaching effects on back, neck and sciatica pain. It may also help with allergies, TMJ, arthritis, headaches and migraines.

I have known many people who started seeing a chiropractor in their thirties and kept right on seeing them as they moved into active retirements some thirty years later.

Along the way they navigated through a variety of back pain, neck pain, knee pain and arthritis challenges. But, in each case, their chiropractors were there to help them seek the best solutions without medications or surgery.

If this direct focus on chiropractic wellness sounds as great to you as it does to majority of the people in the U.S., make an appointment and find out more.
