Summer Snacks That Lack Sugar

June is National Candy Month. Most candy options in store are packed with far too much sugar and are bad for your teeth. They aren't ideal for the rest of your body, either. You need to find some summer snacks that lack sugar yet provide nutritional value so you can get some benefit from the desserts you're enjoying.

Homemade Juice Popsicles

Popsicles provide a cool treat on hot days. The store bought versions aren't always great, though. It's better to make some homemade juice popsicles yourself using real fruit juice. You can even use infused water for a healthier option that still cools you down. 

Mango Sorbet

Rather than snacking on candy or ice cream, try a mango sorbet. It's reminiscent of both. The sweetness from the mango itself will curb your sweet cravings while the creaminess and cold will meet your ice cream expectations. 

Frozen Peanut Butter Cups

A peanut butter cup is a tasty candy option, but a frozen version is even better. A frozen candy bar can help cool you down during the summer. Try a homemade  version with less sugar for a healthier alternative. Peanut butter gets mixed with heavy cream, cream cheese, and vanilla extract in this recipe. Use melted dark chocolate to coat it.

Sugar-Free Gum

You don't have to actually consume something to help curb your appetite. Chewing gum can help to satisfy your sweet tooth and make you feel full. Lots of sugar-free yet still flavorful options exist. Give some a try and see which will become your summer go-to. 

Dark Chocolate Catalina Crunch

Cereal isn't just for breakfast. You can pour some in a baggie for a quick on-the-go snack. Sugary cereals won't do, though. Dark chocolate Catalina crunch is an option that keeps the sugar content low. This option is gluten and grain-free and is Keto-friendly. There are other flavors from this brand as well that can also make easy snacks. 

No matter the type of snack you're going for, there's always a healthier version or way to make it yourself. Cut down on sugar and calories this summer for a slimmer figure that looks great in that bathing suit. You can even find some alternative solutions to help yourself cut back even more on the sugar content. Your brain and body will thank you.
