Your Minute Tips for Fall Health
By Brandi Goodman
The fall season brings fun, friends, festivals, and feasts. However, it can also bring illness when people are consistently in close proximity with one another and the weather changes make it easy to develop a cold. With some minute tips in mind, you can better your fall health and enjoy the autumn season more easily.
What You Can Do With One Minute
One minute is all it takes to help your well-being at times. In just a minute's time -- or really less -- you can fill a glass of water and take a vitamin supplement that boosts your immune system and prevents you from getting sick. Vitamin C is a great option, but you could also take elderberry, Vitamin D, or a multivitamin made for your specific needs.
Less than one minute is all it takes to wash your hands. Anytime you touch a surface that others have frequently come into contact with, it's wise to take that minute to run to the restroom -- or find a nearby sink -- and wash your hands. Scrub the germs away before you touch your face or anything else that can cause you illness.
Pour yourself a glass of water and take a minute to drink it down. Proper hydration is key for keeping your body feeling well. Take a minute before a meal or after exercise to hydrate your body with water and prevent symptoms of dehydration.
What You Can Do With Five Minutes
Five minutes gives you plenty of time to stretch out your body. Stiffness can lead to soreness and may even result in the inability to get up and move well for a while. If you take that few minutes to stretch out well and get the blood and oxygen flowing through your veins once again, you'll be more flexible and better able to handle all your fall activities.
A five-minute skin routine can work wonders as well. Once fall arrives, the dryness starts to set in and you may experience flaky skin, cracked lips, and itchiness. Take five minutes in the morning to quickly wash your face and apply a moisturizer so you can enjoy your autumn day without worrying about dry skin bothering you.
Whether you take one minute or five, these minor moments out of all the hours in your day can actually do a lot for your well-being. Take the minutes and make the most of them for better fall health. You want to enjoy your autumn season, not dread it because it's filled with sick days stuck in bed.
