You have heard the advice a million times over. Drink more water. This advice is so abundant because it is so true. Water makes up the majority of our bodies, so taking in enough H2O is really important to your health and overall wellness. After a while, however, water can get a little boring. It’s times like these that you need a little break from the agua. The hard part is finding a healthy alternative to water for just a day or two. Here are 3 healthy alternatives when you need a break from all of that water.

Natural fruit juice. Most fruit juice that you buy at the store is loaded with sugar. These should be avoided most of the time. We’re talking about the kind of juice that you make from fresh fruit at home. When you make this yourself, you know for sure that you are getting 100% pure juice. This also allows you to be creative. You can mix and match the juice of whatever fruit you like. It’s important to note that if you’re trying to stay away from ALL things sugar, then this probably isn’t for you.

Unsweetened green tea. Green tea is full of antioxidants which help in cell repair and protection. If you drink this tea without any added sugar, then there are tons of benefits and very little negatives. Of course, this might not be the thing to drink right after a workout, but sipping it first thing in the morning or last thing before bed might be more appropriate. Without sugar, the flavor will take a little getting used to, but you can bet it’ll have more flavor than water for those times that you need a water timeout.

Coconut water. This is a recently touted super drink. Coconut water is so good for the body, and it tastes good too! It is naturally sweetened by the flavor of the coconut. It is also full of electrolytes which help you recover after a workout. It’ll still help to prevent dehydration, and is super low calorie as well. If you’re looking for an alternative to water, you really can’t go wrong with coconut water.

While plain old water is the best thing for your body, it’s ok to take a break from it now and then. When you need to do so, try these healthy alternatives to keep you healthy, hydrated, and perfectly satisfied.
