Prevention Is a Big Deal at Your Chiropractor’s

Your chiropractor knows that 80 percent of us will have spinal problems at some point if we don’t unlearn slouching.  And everywhere we go people are slouching over their screens.

But that is just the beginning of what the chiropractor knows about keeping a spine healthy.  People turn up everyday with all sorts of painful problems that might have been prevented.

Pain, numbness and weakness in arms and legs, trouble breathing and poor digestion or difficulties with bladder or bowel control can all start with the central nervous system that controls these functions.

Learn More About Prevention with Your Chiropractor

If you want to take the prevention route, versus the all too familiar pain one, consider seeing a chiropractor now to evaluate your spinal health, and to learn more about what to do right, before things go wrong.

The initial visit will include a spinal manipulation, review of medical history and discussion about daily activities. At that point the chiropractor can spot posture, weight, muscle tension and stress, or other habits that could become problems. The discussion will focus on a course of prevention, seeking to keep the central nervous system healthy, and free from pain.

The chiropractor’s goal seeks to help relieve pain and maintain healthy functions without medications or surgery. There could be neck stretching and range of motion exercises, use of light weights, or yoga poses to strengthen core and joints. Discussion about a healthy diet, good sleep habits and leaving room for periods of relaxation may also come up. Vitamin D, at least 20 minutes a day in the sun, and the value of belly breathing are other possible topics.

If this all sounds like a life shaping session it really is. The chiropractor sees life flow from the spine and sees what can go wrong when life tilts too many times in the wrong direction. Slouching over cell phones or laptops, slumping down on the couch for a movie, skipping gym sessions, eating way too many pizzas and burgers and fries can all serve to put us on the wrong side of the spinal column.

With a little help and direction from the chiropractor, getting back on track can work out quite well. If this sounds like a plan to you, make an appointment with your chiropractor now and find out more.
