How Your Chiropractor May Help You Shut Down Pain

When pain enters your life and just refuses to leave, your chiropractor may be one of the first ones to see.

Starting with a focus that excludes medication and seeks to avoid surgery, the chiropractor can offer assistance with back pain, neck pain, joint pain in the arms or legs or headaches for starters.

The chiropractor sees people in pain and uses a hands on approach in patient examination, diagnosis and treatment.

One of my relatives retired after a very active life as an amateur race driver and pipe fitter. The man was strong, quick and always on the move.

But his senior years gave him the first real physical challenge he could not just leap over, when he injured his knee and later his back.

Giving up was not in his nature and he sought help from the doctor and a chiropractor. Together the three of them helped him keep right on moving, just a bit slower.

Working through the knee and the back pain took time and required many visits and many adjustments in life style, but he made it.

Another fellow that I knew was also lucky as he made his way through back pain too. In his case, extra weight, too many work hours, and too much family stress took their toll. His chiropractor started with the initial examination and kept right on going to help him lose weight, calm down and start to reshape his whole life. He made it back too.

Find out how this approach might fit you and your family.

When you see the chiropractor for the first time there is an initial spinal adjustment to evaluate spinal health, coupled with a complete medical history review and a discussion of daily activities. Out of that examination comes the identification of pain sources and the possible solutions that may bring relief.

Sometimes there are home issues like lumpy mattresses, or sagging couches to be fixed.

Other times there are stress issues to change. The chiropractor may suggest Tai Chi, yoga and deep breathing as new routines to try.

The chiropractor’s regular session really can be similar to having a health and wellness coach who understands pain and keeps coming up with new answers.

Wherever you or family members are in the pain circle, consider seeing your chiropractor as a way out.
