By Virginia Laird
Making a list and checking it twice? If you are one who enjoys the thrill of Black Friday, you have (most likely) already started to dig through the endless ads and deals that will be the spotlight on the biggest shopping day of the year. While many may thrive, others may struggle to make it through the shoppers' Super Bowl. For this reason, health and wellness experts have put together a list of tips to follow which can help you stay healthy while shopping until you drop on Black Friday. These tips include:
- Eat breakfast before you go
- Carry water with you
- Get plenty of sleep before you head to the mall
Eat Breakfast Before You Go
Eating breakfast prior to heading out for a long day of shopping can help get the body started in the right direction. Research suggests that when you have a long day ahead of you and skip the most important meal of the day, the body can be exhausted throughout the entire day. For this reason health and wellness experts advise that you should eat a balanced meal prior to heading out for Black Friday shopping. A balanced breakfast generally consists of protein and fruit to keep the body going. Before you head out the door for Black Friday fun, make sure you take time to get something in your stomach to keep your body fueled and ready for the day.
Carry Water With You
Rather than reaching for soda or whatever the mall may have available, many experts advise that you pack water for the trip to the mall. Water can help keep your body hydrated when you need it most. It is suggested that you drink at least half your body weight in ounces each day. Long periods of shopping can prove to be detrimental to your water consumption. For this reason it is imperative that you take water along so that you can maintain proper hydration.
Get Plenty of Sleep Before You Head to the Mall
Getting enough sleep before your big day of shopping can prove to be beneficial to the body. It is suggested that the average adult get at least six hours of sleep each night. However, experts advise that if you are planning a daylong shopping trip, you made need to stock up on a little bit more sleep than this. Make sure you get enough sleep so that you can function properly while looking for the best deals of the year.
Now you are ready to start making your trip to the mall count. Have fun and be sure you are ready for the crowd that lies ahead.
