Chiropractic Care and Allergies
Chiropractic care is normally associated with improving health outcomes associated with musculoskeletal injuries that occur in the back, neck, and other parts of the body. However as time passes, we become more understanding of the wide-ranging impacts that chiropractic care has on injuries and other health conditions.
Asthma, diabetes, and heart disease are just some of the conditions that we see being improved and to some degree, reversed by chiropractic care. Recently, there is certain level of evidence that suggests a relationship between chiropractic care and allergies.
We often forget that allergies result from a malfunctioning of the immune system. Different allergens enter our bodies through the nose, eyes, and mouth and in some cases our immune response is unable to prevent the penetration of this allergen. With respect to the relationship between our immune system and chiropractic care, there is definitely something there.
When the vertebrae in our backs and spines are out of line, then different parts of our nervous system have trouble communicating with each other. Some parts of the nervous system play a huge role in the functionality of our immune response and if there are problems with neuron communication, our immune response will most likely struggle as well.
Chiropractic care has the ability to put these vertebrae back in place so that blood is flowing properly and signals are being sent throughout the nervous system effectively. With full functioning of the nervous system, various different nerves are able to better control the immune response and reduce suffering in the individuals allergic reactions.
It is important to remember that chiropractic care is not a direct cure for allergies, but the impact that chiropractic care can have on other parts of our bodies can significantly alter how our immune response works. If you are dealing with the insufferable allergies that spring time can bring, consider seeking a chiropractic consult to see if this alternative medicine discipline can work.
