Dr. Dana Harris joined The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2019, and in 2023 she began serving residents at the Heights at Yale & 21st clinic, where she continues doing the work she finds so rewarding.
“The best part about being a chiropractor is helping people with issues they've had for years through natural and effective treatments,” she says. “The second best part of what I do is helping patients feel comfortable with chiropractic.”
Originally from Arlington, Dr. Dana, as her clients call her, began receiving chiropractic care at the age of 11. “I fell while ice skating and could barely walk, and when I went to the emergency room they said nothing was wrong,” she says. “After visiting my chiropractor, he discovered I had separated growth plates in my hips. After about two weeks I was walking normally and my pain had decreased significantly.”
Before joining the practice in Houston, Dr. Dana worked in Dallas and Austin. She has a teenage daughter and the two of them like to spend time together shopping and cooking meals they find on TikTok.
Dr. Dana has a dachshund named Nugget, and two cats – a gray tabby named Shadow and a tuxie named Aura. “They are a rowdy bunch and they keep me busy!” she says. “All of my fur babies are the best snuggle buddies … when they want to be.” She enjoys painting, crafting, reading, and going out with friends. Dr. Dana attended Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, where she studied biology and secondary education. She earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas.
“I actually didn't know chiropractic was my calling until after I graduated and got to see patients over time who started to improve,” she says. “The first few years I had imposter syndrome and didn't think I was ‘good enough.’ Things started changing around my third year practicing, when I was able to really see major changes.”
Some of Dr. Dana’s most memorable moments occurred when she went on a chiropractic mission trip to Jamaica. “I was still a student and learned so much from the chiropractors,” she says. “It was amazing to see how grateful the people were to get adjusted by us. We went to different communities and they didn't always have the nicest things, but they were happy and appreciative of the time we spent with them. My experience there taught me to practice gratitude and to love the service I provide, knowing that it can help change lives.”

Dr. Dana always keeps eggs and avocados in her refrigerator. “My daughter and I love making avocado toast for breakfast and when we're feeling really fancy, we add a fried egg!”
If she could create the ideal dinner party including famous guests, Dr. Dana would invite Frida Kahlo, Maya Angelou, author Bell Hooks, and musicians Nina Simone and Whitney Houston. “I'm sure I'm missing some people, but those are my favorite artists.”
The coolest experience of Dr. Dana’s life was a last minute decision to take a solo trip to Egypt. “I had always wanted to go and my friends bailed on me at the last minute,” she says. “Although it was scary, I had a ton of fun and met some wonderful people. It was really empowering and it helped me face a lot of my fears.”
One of Dr. Dana’s favorite books is The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk. “I've always thought our mental and physical health go together, so I like that this book talks about just that,” she says. “It is especially important because a patient bought it for me, and I always appreciate it when my patients think about me.”
Among her favorite lessons learned, Dr. Dana appreciates the quote: “Anything can happen if you train your mind to believe it has already happened.”
As for advice she offers to others, her favorite is: “Be yourself and be genuine.
Dr. Andrew Kim became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2022, and in 2023 he began serving residents at the Midtown Houston clinic, continuing the work he finds so rewarding.
“The best part of working in the chiropractic field is hearing each patient tell me about the improvements in their daily activities and their quality of life,” he says. “I enjoy treating each individual person and figuring out what they need according to their characteristics and personal history, because I always love a challenge and problem solving.”
Dr. Kim lived in various locations while growing up including Houston, Dallas, and Toronto, Canada.
In his free time, Dr. Kim practices Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and he enjoys food and travel.
He attended York University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology. He got a Doctorate at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena.
“I knew I wanted to directly help people with their health in some form,” he says. “I always saw chiropractic as a hands-on, non-invasive way to immediately help someone with their discomfort.”
Treating famous athletes has been one of Dr. Kim’s most memorable experiences as a chiropractor. “What I love about working in Houston is the volume of patients I see and being able to directly help so many individuals,” he says.

You can always find water and guacamole in Dr. Kim’s refrigerator.
If he could plan the ideal dinner party including four famous guests, Dr. Kim would invite Michael Jordan, Muhammed Ali, Bruce Lee, and mixed martial artist Conor McGregor. “As an avid martial arts practitioner, I would want to get into the mindset of some of the best athletes and try to absorb their wisdom and work ethic,” he says.
Dr. Kim’s coolest experience was during a martial arts competition. “It was my first Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament and it required getting past my fear of performance anxiety,” he says.
Dr. James Vallee became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2024 when he began serving residents at the Houston clinic, doing the work he finds so gratifying.
“Having the ability to brighten the day for each of my patients, even if just a little, is very fulfilling,” he says. “Interacting with my community and being a positive force in the world.”
He was raised by his grandparents in Chandler, Ariz. “My grandfather was a chiropractor and I grew up seeing him help countless people,” he says.
When he’s not working, Dr. Vallee loves spending time with his three sons. He also enjoys cooking, making beef jerky, and shooting pool.
A former United States Marine, Dr. Vallee is a combat veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Doctorate at Texas Chiropractic College.
“I’d like to think that if I gain half as much knowledge and help half as many people as my grandpa did, then I'll be very successful,” he says.
Dr. Vallee likes the atmosphere at The Joint clinic at The Heights. “I often see a patient who seems to be in a bad mood when they walk in, but they almost always walk out with a smile on their face,” he says.
In Case You Didn’t Know
He always keeps a variety of hot sauces and coffee on hand.
If he could plan the ideal dinner party including four famous guests, Dr. Vallee would invite: actor Michael J. Fox; Jim Carrey “for his humorous antics”; former USMC General Jim "Mad Dog" Mattis, “a legendary Marine”; and Ron Swanson, the character (not the actor) from the TV show “Parks & Recreation.”
Dr. Vallee’s most memorable experience occurred during his service in the Marine Corps. “I was deployed multiple times to remote areas of Iraq and Afghanistan, and witnessing daily life in those regions was eye-opening,” he says. “At first glance, the conditions might seem, for lack of a better word, ‘primitive,’ especially when contrasted with the convenience, cleanliness, and fast-paced nature of life in the United States. These experiences gave me a profound appreciation for just how fortunate we are here.”
As a teenager and young adult Dr. Vallee read a number of Louis L'Amour western novels.
Some of his favorite advice comes from film character Joe Dirt: "Life's a garden. Dig it."
