Summer Activities That Burn Major Calories

With summer just on the horizon, you’re probably thinking about 2 things. Having fun and a fit body. Summer is full of fun activities, but it’s also full of more revealing clothing than winter. With shorts, tank tops, and swimsuits, we simply show off more of our bodies in the summer, so we want to be in good shape. To burn calories while still having a blast this summer, check out these great fat blasting summer activities.

Swimming

It’s hard to think about summer without imagining sitting pool or beach side. If you really want to burn calories, however, get in and take a dip. Swimming works the entire body and burns major calories. Think about how tired you feel after a day in the water. Most likely, you’re exhausted! Use this time to make a splash with fun and exercise your whole body at the same time.

Biking

Riding a bike is something you generally do as a child, but picking it back up again as an adult can have some great healthy benefits. Biking is a great activity for summer. It’s a lot of fun and allows you to get out and get some sun. It also, however, is a great calorie burner. In fact, riding a bike at 8-10 miles an hour for 1 hour can burn up to 800 calories! That doesn’t even include biking up an incline or on rocky terrain. Pick up this fun activity to enjoy summer and work on your body too.

Hiking

Another great outdoor activity is hiking. Hiking is great because it can be catered to your skill level. Inexperienced? Start with a simple walking trail. Super experienced? Look for a challenging mountain trail. Hiking is a great way to keep it fun and interesting since hiking can be done at so many different locations. Hiking is essentially walking with a little challenge, so no matter where you go this summer, you can take this activity with you to continually challenge your body.

If you love the summer and want to make sure you get the most of it, try using these activities to burn calories and have fun all at the same time. Do them alone, make it a friendly outing, or spend some quality family time together. Whatever you do, these great activities can make your summer one to remember while taking care of your health all at the same time.
