Dr. Hannah Hester became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when she began serving residents in the Fort Worth area, where she does the work she finds so rewarding.
“My favorite part about being in the chiropractic field is watching patients take control of their health,” she says. “I have always loved the holistic approach to restore the body to its optimal state.
“It’s gratifying to watch a patient get off the table and be able to move pain-free.”
Dr Hannah, as her patients call her, grew up in Midlothian. She and husband Josh, who is also a chiropractor, met at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas and married the day after graduation. They enjoy spending time together with their dog Finn, “the laziest and sweetest goldendoodle you will ever meet.” She also likes staying active: “I’ve played volleyball since I was little and still love playing today.”
In addition to getting her doctorate from Parker College, she also earned bachelor’s degrees in anatomy, and health and wellness.
“I’ve seen a chiropractor since I was a child, but it never crossed my mind to pursue it,” Dr. Hannah says. “After two years of college volleyball, I felt the Lord call me to step out of my position and pursue something new. I had no idea of His plans, but I took a leap of faith. The day after I left my team, I was approached by a current chiropractic student; he spoke to me about all the amazing benefits of chiropractic and I immediately felt the Lord tell me this was His plan. I applied the next day and I have fallen in love with this career.”
There has been no looking back. Dr. Hannah loves the story of a female patient suffering chronic neck pain and headaches but who was about to risk surgery that would limit her neck mobility for the slight chance of reducing her pain. “She decided to give chiropractic one chance,” Dr. Hannah says. “After one week, she came back to me and explained that after her adjustment, she slept through the night, and that she could not remember the last time she was able to fall asleep and stay asleep pain-free.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Hannah says the one thing she always has stocked in her freezer is ice cream: “I love something sweet at the end of the day.”
She says the best book she has read is The Love Dare by brothers Alex Kendrick and Stephen Kendrick. “I originally read this book to start off my marriage the right way, but I have now applied these principles to my everyday life,” Dr. Hannah says. “It has taught me the value of loving unconditionally and acting on it to each and every person I encounter."
